The Marketing and Communication Specialist is responsible for engaging and retaining membership through the development and implementation of multi-channel marketing and communication plans meant to promote the organization and its products or services. Analyzes marketing and promotional needs, collects data measuring the viability of new markets and assists in the creation of marketing plans.This position coordinates AHRMM’s bi-monthly membership magazine and public relations efforts. It also manages AHRMM’s website and social media accounts as well as the Association’s intellectual capital.

Essential Functions:

  1. Develops and implements timely and effective member communication plans and marketing campaigns, promoting AHRMM education, products, services and events, and other initiatives as assigned. 
  2. Develops and implements cross channel multi-media member communications which includes writing content, copywriting/editing, proofing, graphic design, email campaign automation and distribution, list management, multimedia, digital, video production, print and banner ads. 
  3. Manages all aspects of bi-monthly membership magazine (print and digital), including but not limited to editorial calendar and media kit, budget, vendor selection and oversight, writing, copyediting, design approval, printing, mailing and distribution. 
  4. Manages AHRMM social media, including annual conference and exhibition. Develops and implements strategies, monitors and compiles web analytics, prepares reports to analyze performance of published content, and make recommendations for new content with the best potential for traffic. 
  5. Collects and analyzes data on the performance of communications or marketing campaigns. Measures effectiveness and return on investment of campaigns via tracking and reporting and makes recommendations for improvements. Generates membership recruitment and tracking/analytics reports on a variety of marketing communications initiatives. 
  6. Updates AHRMM website daily using Drupal, monitoring and reporting on metrics and making recommendations for improvements. Tags and archives AHRMM’s intellectual capital (i.e. recorded webinars, articles, reports, white papers, press releases, Fellow papers, etc.) in the Knowledge Center. 
  7. Performs marketing and communications research, makes recommendations for improvements and assists with implementing new marketing communications related technologies. 
  8. Promotes usage of member benefits and increases year-round engagement utilizing member online community and other tactics. Improves member experience and increases engagement by monitoring discussion posts and updates content on a regular basis with announcements and event updates. 
  9. Manages the National Health Care Supply Chain Week, Career Center, Conference Mobile App and other programs as assigned. Works with outside vendors to develop marketing materials and communications to engage target audiences and meet revenue budget goals. Writes and maintains scripts and PowerPoint presentations for annual conference and other speaking events for AHRMM leadership.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Desired fields of study: Marketing or related degree.

Required Experience:

3-5 years experience witha minimum of 3 years of experiencein marketing, communications, association management, membership and customer relations, and writing:

  • Experience in marketing/communications, including social media, ideally in a non-profit or association environment.
  • Experience in project management. 
  • Previous experience and/or strong knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods to include print, web/digital, and social media.
