High School District 214 is the largest high school district in Illinois, serving more than 12,000 students from eight communities. Our nationally recognized district includes six comprehensive high schools and four specialized programs, offering more than 600 academic courses and 140 co-curricular opportunities. The Marketing and Communications Supervisor manages all content and campaigns to help build the District's brand locally, regionally and nationally and influence the national dialogue on public education. The individual works with stakeholders on the development and deployment of content across all digital and traditional platforms to reach targeted audiences to showcase our District, schools, Education Foundation and Community Education programs and assists in leading communications during crisis situations. Serving as the main point of contact for media, this individual secures strategic media placements to help shape the narrative about public education and District 214's role in developing innovative solutions to help students discover their future.

General Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage all content for marketing and communications efforts. 
  • Manage and direct social media and digital content efforts, with emphasis on continually updating and expanding strategies and platforms, including but not limited to social media, email, websites, mass notification systems, etc. to maximize the reach of messages to all key stakeholders. 
  • Manage marketing and communications projects to ensure they are delivered on time, within budget and meet or exceed intended outcomes. 
  • Develop strategic communications campaigns and serve as the lead point of contact for content development. 
  • Meet regularly with internal stakeholders to assess marketing and communications needs, conduct research, develop associated plans, and work with department and school content creators on strategic initiatives. 
  • Review and analyze analytics to modify strategies and tactics to ensure marketing and communications efforts are reaching intended audiences and meeting strategic objectives. 
  • Serve as the main point of contact for media. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Community Engagement and Outreach.

LENGTH OF CONTRACT: Full Year Assignment

SALARY: Supervisory Salary Schedule, Grade 3 – $73,427 to $88,112; plus full benefits package

EFFECTIVE DATE OF APPOINTMENT: April 15, 2020
