Marketing & Engagement Manager

The Marketing & Engagement Manager is a collaborative, mission-focused, and results-driven brand ambassador. This position supports all RMHC-Madison chapter programs and is responsible for developing and executing the organization’s marketing and communications strategy.

Key objectives of the position: 1) increase brand awareness and understanding, 2) deepen engagement with donors, volunteers, guest families and the community and 3) bolster annual development efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities

Marketing and Communications

  • Ensure consistent RMHC brand standards in all aspects of the organization. 
  • Manage social, digital and traditional media. Track, measure and report analytics. 
  • Develop collateral, annual and impact reports, appeals, e-newsletters, event promotion, video and presentations. 
  • Regularly identify and interview guest families, volunteers and donors whose rich stories inspire others to get involved with the mission. 
  • Maintain the organization’s website to keep it fresh and engaging while ensuring RMHC Global and ADA compliance standards are met. 
  • Generate media alerts and press releases, and maintain relationships with media partners. 
  • Draft crisis communication and ongoing program communication as necessary. 
  • Maintain and adhere to annual marketing budget. 
  • Manage marketing vendors. Leverage limited resources through in-kind contributions, partnerships and sponsorships. 
  • Maintain files and archives of collateral, marketing materials, photos and videos of RMHC-M events, guest families and volunteer activities. 
  • Observe McDonald’s and Ronald McDonald House Charities trademark, licensing and brand standards in all promotional materials, collateral and publications. 

Fund Development

  • Collaborate with the development team to plan and support annual fund efforts including but not limited to events, fundraisers, cultivation and stewardship efforts. 
  • Serve as a member of the Development Committee. Provide support to the Leadership Team.


  • Represent RMHC-M at networking events and secure speaking opportunities in the community.

Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities

  • Four to six years of related experience in marketing, strategic communications and/or community outreach. Non-profit experience preferred but not required. 
  • Self-starter, able to perform and complete tasks independently, and be willing to learn new skills and motivated for continual improvement. 
  • Excellent writing skills and experience supervising the production of materials such as annual reports, brochures, programs and appeals. 
  • Excellent oral communications skills in one-on-one, small group and large group settings. 
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects, meet frequent and/or demanding deadlines and be self-disciplined about work prioritization and time management. 
  • Demonstrate creative thinking skills. 
  • Experience/understanding of any of the following a plus: Adobe Creative Suite, Google Analytics, Hootsuite, Microsoft Office suite, Prezi, social media channels and website maintenance.

Working Conditions

  • Position is full-time with primary hours falling during noramal business hours with occasional night and weekend hours required. Position works in an office enviornment that is set in a home-like enviornment and limited remote work may be available for this position. Som elight housekeeping and light lifing may be required. Ability to access all areas of the House and grounds, including going up and down stairs. Travel for various activities both local and national required.
