Wages & Benefits:

$­­­60,000 - $70,000 annual salary; 11 Paid Holidays and accrued paid time off; company-paid medical, dental, vision, life insurance, AD&D, and short-term and long-term disability; company-sponsored retirement plan with automatic enrollment, a 10% employer contribution after 1 year of service, immediate vesting, and 100% employer matching on the first 5% of employee contributions; paid parental leave for eligible employees.

A Typical Day in the Life…

A typical day as Hallie Q. Brown’s Marketing & Events Manager provides an opportunity to execute consistent strategies that build awareness of our programs and maintain community engagement through successful events. This position informs the community of what the mission and values of HQBCC are through the use of current marketing trends and in synergy with the community that HQBCC represents.

Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Designing and implementing event plans and concepts, including obtaining appropriate permits. 
  • Managing budget for internal events. 
  • Booking, negotiating, and communicating with vendors for internal events. 
  • Creating event day timelines, executing event logistics, and handling post-event recaps. 
  • Managing meeting room inquiries and site visits, including sending proposals and creating event orders for all external events.
  • Maintaining all communication with external event clients. 
  • Coordinating with HQBCC Events team to staff all external events. 
  • Directing volunteers on days of service. 
  • Designing and directing traditional and digital marketing campaigns to be executed by Marketing staff. 
  • Supporting the Marketing team by providing written content for branded emails, marketing campaigns, offline marketing material, and blogs. 
  • Reviewing content documents across all departments for relevancy, consistency, and brand compliance. 
  • Identifying opportunities for new content and PR based projects that drive organizational objectives. 
  • Analyzing the company’s digital marketing plan and social media strategy and determining solutions when strategic weaknesses are identified. 
  • Researching social media trends that are relevant to the company’s marketing activities. 
  • Managing employee and team performance and effective employee relations. 
  • Managing the hiring process for positions within their team.

Who You Are:

  • You hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or demonstrably equivalent knowledge gained through alternative courses of study and life experience. 
  • You have a minimum of two years of work experience in a relevant field. 
  • You have interest in the human services nonprofit sector; experience working in a nonprofit setting preferred. 
  • You preferably have knowledge of the Rondo area. 
  • You have the ability to use resources to stay current on marketing trends. 
  • You have the ability to effectively manage, delegate to, and review staff. 
  • You hold prior knowledge of event logistics and project management. 
  • You are comfortable using a variety of social media platforms. 
  • You demonstrate a willingness to learn a variety of tasks. 
  • You possess strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. 
  • You have the ability to work independently, establish priorities, and meet deadlines. 
  • You have knowledge of and experience with diverse groups of people of lower socioeconomic conditions. 
  • You are competent in MS Office: Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
  • You have the ability to travel to off-site locations and work some nights/weekends as needed.
  • You have a valid driver’s license, access to reliable transportation, and the ability to meet Hallie Q. Brown’s driving record requirements. Please note that if the license wasnotissued in the state of Minnesota, you have 60 days after becoming a Minnesota resident in which to apply for your Minnesota driver's license or permit (not applicable for new hires living out of state).
