The Marketing and Graphic Design Specialist is responsible for providing marketing and graphic design services for the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Climate. Responsibilities include supervising the Union Graphic Design, Marketing & Promotions student teams. This position provides guidance to the design efforts of the University Union, Student Life, and Residence Life graphic designers for quality, consistency, copy, and adherence to the style guide requirements of the University. This position serves as the design lead for major Student Affairs projects across all mediums including web, print, and social media.

Additionally, the Marketing and Graphic Design Specialist will assist Division personnel on marketing research to support effective connection and communication of information and promotional efforts that engage the campus community. This position reports to the Manager of Union Services with additional oversight from University Marketing and Communications.This position will work to create a safe and inclusive environment for all UW Green Bay students where all feel a sense of place and pride.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Supervise the University Union Graphics & Marketing student teams including project management of tasks and assignments. 
  • Design various promotional materials across a variety of mediums that support the information and programmatic efforts of the Division of Student Affairs and Campus Climate. 
  • Stay current with trends in the graphic design and marketing industry and incorporate new technologies as appropriate. 
  • Manage the University Union and Dining websites. 
  • Edit, proofread, and fact check all projects and documents for the University Union. 
  • Serve as a resource and guide for student graphic designers within the Student Affairs and Campus Climate departments with their internal promotional design and marketing efforts including developing their graphic design skill and technique. 
  • Administrate Digital Signage screens across campus and serve as the main contact for development, maintenance, software upgrades, and usage guidelines. 
  • Monitor, review and enforce policies that guide the use of the Digital Signage system. 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for posting content on the University Union digital screens. 
  • Act as a liaison between Information Technology Services and external departments using digital signage software, training on software, setting up screen, creating content, scheduling players, creating user accounts, etc. 
  • Develop ongoing dining & meal plan marketing email campaigns for campus distribution to Students, Faculty & Staff. 
  • Assist dining contractor with marketing of limited time offerings and dining specials. 
  • Develop & update the University meal plan and dining marketing information to educate students on the meal plan options, variety and program. 
  • Support the University Union programming through marketing & social media efforts to build awareness. 
  • Supervise the Union student Promotions team members who facilitate events within the University Union. 
  • Coordinate purchasing and reconciliation of event supplies & giveaways. 
  • Assist with planning, preparing and executing programming efforts for co-sponsored, monthly and seasonal program for the University Union. 
  • In conjunction with University Marketing and Communication department, ensure that the visual identity and functionality of all print, web, and social media is consistent and contains up-to-date information. 
  • Assist department personnel with updates to their respective websites and gather data on website activity to help guide future efforts to engage the campus community via the web. 
  • Manage event participation and assessment by collecting attendance data at events, sending out Qualtrix Surveys focused around event satisfaction, and gathering desired information to target marketing strategies. 
  • Serve as the University Union representative to the Healthy Choices task force. 
  • Participate in Division and campus-wide committee and working groups and support other duties as assigned by direct supervisor, University Union Director, and Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs and Campus Climate. 
  • Serve on University Committees, Task Forces, and more as requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree at time of application 
  • Proficiency and experience with Adobe In-Design, Illustrator, and Photoshop and other comparable print software 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design or related field 
  • Experience supervising students and/or professional staff 
  • Knowledge and understanding of the role of the college Union on-campus 
  • Professional work experience at a higher education institution

Standard work hours are 7:45 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Position is a full-time (100%) Academic Staff appointment. SALARY INFORMATION

Salary range of $36,000 - $40,000.

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
