We are seeking a full-time Marketing Associate to bring new ideas and talent to expand our customer base through multi-channel marketing. This crucial role is a rare opportunity to join the groundbreaking MarketPlace India organization. You will use your knowledge of marketing, digital and social media to contribute to enhanced sales and increased employment for low-income women in India.

You will be a member of small, vibrant team. Your voice will be heard. As Marketing Associate; Digital/Social Media, you will communicate the unique handmade qualities of the clothing as well as the impact the sales of the products and affiliation with Marketplace India has on the lives of the artisans. Ensuring brand consistency across all platforms in content, copy, relevancy and visuals is essential. 

Essential Functions:

  • Communicate a clear, engaging message about our products and evergreen brand story by working cross-functionally with the entire team to gather information 
  • As an integral part of the evergreen brand story, learn to understand and express interdependencies between Design, Merchandising, Production in India and Business needs 
  • Increase visibility in socially conscious/sustainable/handmade market segments 
  • Execute all creative (copy and visuals) for key campaigns and newsletters 
  • Develop social media strategy to drive followership and increase brand awareness and engagement, and foster community 
  • Execution of social media calendar and content for all platforms 
  • Publishing and posting of content across all platforms 
  • Create and manage online advertisements 
  • Optimize budgets and conversion tactics to scale digital marketing efforts to boost traffic across digital marketing channels 
  • Build relationships with relevant influencers in an authentic and measurable way. 
  • Initially working cross-functionally to seek input about influencers 
  • Analyze large amounts of data to optimize programs 
  • Study brand and competitive sale and marketing trends. 
  • Make recommendations for actions to be taken 
  • Stay current with trends in direct mail and digital marketing, research competitors and like-minded brands to suggest new opportunities

The ideal Marketing and Social Content Associate:

  • 2-3 years experience in brand marketing, graphic design, community management, and/or partnerships 
  • Exceptional writing skills and the ability to quickly grasp, represent, and further define the brand 
  • Strong creative eye 
  • Strong strategic, analytic and research skills 
  • Team player able to work effectively w cross-functional teams 
  • Self-driven, with strong work ethic and excellent project management skills 
  • Attention to detail 
  • Proven track record of successfully executing online marketing strategies in growing social media channels (image deck or portfolio required) 
  • Ability to develop measurable multi-channel goals 
  • Keeps up to date with emerging platforms and technologies 
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Excel and Word) Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop 
  • Work from home in the Chicago area and attend regular meetings to the Evanston office.
