In addition to producing Summerfest presented by American Family Insurance, Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. maintains and develops the 75-acre lakefront parcel known as Henry Maier Festival Park, leasing the parcel from the City of Milwaukee through the year 2030, andhosting a variety of ethnic and cultural festivals, walks, runs, concerts and other eventsalong with approximately 1.5 million patrons each year at the site. Marketing & Social Media Coordinator

This position will assist to develop and execute Milwaukee World Festival’s social media and online/digital platforms ensuring the success of all Milwaukee World Festival events and social media marketing initiatives. This position will serve as the lead social media representative and social voice of all MWF channels and is responsible for strategic social media planning, creating and posting all digital content. In addition, this position will assist in maintaining and optimizing the effectiveness of MWF’s digital properties including, websites, email campaigns, digital screens, video content, apps, and more.

  • Manage day-to-day activities for MWF-produced events/venues across all social media channels, which includes tracking and analysis of social media conversations across various platforms, contesting, reputation management, engaging in dialogues, answering questions, and more.
  • Conceptualize, organize, and execute multi-platform organic social media content designed to grow our social media reach and followers through effective fan engagement, personality, and strategic narrative.
  • Strong copywriting and content-creating skills for digital communications. Position will create, proofread, and edit copy for various marketing channels, ensuring a consistent voice.
  • Orchestrate monthly and quarterly content calendars to maximize effectiveness of various campaigns while working with team members to ensure accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Pull quarterly performance metrics to report to the marketing team and provide concrete suggestions based on the data Research social media and digital marketing trends to develop implementation ideas and plans for use at MWF.
  • Stay up to date on trending memes, hashtags, and upcoming social holidays to execute when appropriate.
  • Lead effort in tagging all social posts and utilizing reporting tools to make analytics decisions on content campaigns.
  • Lead posting sponsorship campaigns on social media and ensuring contractual obligations are met in regard to correct handles, number of posts and metrics
  • Assist to identify and engage brand champions/Influencers to build loyalty and affinity to further enhance brand communication to our audience.
  • Assist with the coordination and execution of promotional and special event marketing campaigns/opportunities to maximize awareness of Summerfest and other MWF events
  • Cover all MWF events with the goal to produce captivating content that captures the attention of followers and casual fans
  • Support with creating graphics and short-form videos for social, websites, emails, video displays, etc.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain positive, cooperative, team-oriented attitude and abide by all MWF Human Resources and Legal policies toward treatment of all MWF employees.

  • Strong understanding of major social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, LinkedIn)
  • Strong visual eye regarding the creating and curation of graphics, photography, and video for social.
  • Excels at research, is able to identify trends, threats and opportunities in social media content.
  • Ability to resolve complex customer service and conflict management issues 
  • Skilled in Adobe Creative (i.e., InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop. Adobe Premier and After Effects a plus)
  • Experience with social listening and analytic tools is preferred (Sprout, Falcon, etc.)
  • Experience working with digital media disciplines (Display, Mobile, Video)
  • Ability to update content using Content Management Systems and other technologies
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage various projects simultaneously
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Experience with marketing/advertising agencies, campaigns, websites, and databases
  • Functional knowledge of the special event business
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Communication, Marketing, or similar field of study.
  • To perform the job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the following software applications/packages: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and general knowledge of Content Management Systems.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret company policies, budgets, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Foreign language skills are a plus. 
  • Employee may be exposed to certain risks or hazards that are typically associated with an outdoor public venue.
  • Some travel may be required
  • Employee will frequently work overtime including evenings and weekends.
  • Employee will be exposed to various weather conditions.

Compensation: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00. Benefits include dental insurance, health insurance, health savings account, life insurance, paid time off, parental leave, retirement plan, vision insurance.
