Founded in 1959, Skylight is Milwaukee’s professional Equity music theatre company and the largest employer of Wisconsin actors in the state. Skylight produces the full spectrum of music theatre ranging from blockbuster Broadway musicals to reimagined operas, and from exciting world premieres to contemporary off-Broadway hits. Skylight’s mainstage home is the Cabot Theatre in the Broadway Theatre Center, which was built by Skylight in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward in 1992. Considered to be one of Milwaukee’s most beautiful theatres, the Cabot Theatre is based on the design of an 18th-century French opera house.Skylight Music Theatre marks its 63rd season in 2022-2023.

Skylight Music Theatre seeks a skilled, creative, and strategic professional to join our fast-paced marketing department. The Marketing Associate is an integral part of the marketing team with a primary focus on social media.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with the marketing team on social media, promotional campaigns, public relations, box office strategies, brand awareness tactics, and efforts to increase ticket sales. 
  • Manage and create social and digital media, including email newsletters, social media content, and social media advertising. Post on social media platforms. 
  • Manage ongoing email and social media calendars. 
  • Support advertising needs and key message development. 
  • Assist in maintaining Skylight brand, including updating website and developing content to support various departments. 
  • Collaborate on marketing strategies to build audience development, community engagement and revenue growth.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years professional experience in marketing, public relations, social media, or journalism.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge and mastery of social media platforms.
  • Adept at working independently as well as collaboratively in teams.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects on deadline.
  • Strategic thinker who is proactive, positive and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent people skills, enthusiastic and interested in the arts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and email marketing platforms such as WordFly. 
  • Experience with ticketing systems such as Tessitura and social media management software a plus. 
  • Additional desirable skills include good graphic sense and familiarity with video and photography.

Salary: Commensurate with experience
