This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of communication, marketing, and engagement strategies for the city, ensuring a consistent and positive image is projected to residents, businesses, and visitors. Additionally, this position oversees the operations of the Farmers Market, Tourism Commission and Cable Communication.

The position requires:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or other related field. 
  • Seven to ten years of increasingly responsible experience in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Social Media or other related experience performing duties related to this position, including 5 years of supervisory experience. 
  • Experience with social media management, graphic design, public sector, strategic internal communications, and organizational staff development preferred. 
  • Direct supervisory experience including evaluating and disciplining employees; experience with budget development and management; direct experience with change management, project development and implementation; strong leadership, direct management, communication, and human relations skills required. 
  • Master’s degree in public administration or business administration desirable. 
  • Any combination of training, education, and experience which demonstrates an ability to perform the duties of the position will be considered. 
  • Possession of a regular Wisconsin driver’s license is required upon appointment and throughout tenure.
