Marketing + Communications Assistant

The purpose of your role as a Marketing + Communications Assistant:

As a Marketing + Communications Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting Harris’ Marketing + Communications efforts as a communications generalist who supports efforts of the entire team.

This role can be performed hybrid remote or fully in-office.

Marketing + Communications Collateral Development:

  • Assist in researching, coordinating content and writing, editing, creating, proofreading project sheets, project resumes, proposal content and interview materials. 
  • Maintain resumes and project sheets in CRM. Partner with employees to get updated information included in project sheets and resumes. 
  • Add to, remove, generate and maintain proposal repository in CRM. 
  • Manage, maintain and track personnel, client and project references information.

Marketing + Communications Support:

  • Assist with collateral development, including brochures, presentations, etc. 
  • Respond to requests for resumes and project sheets from internal customers 
  • Assist with project photography and managing digital asset management tool (web assets, photographs, videos, animation, presentations). 
  • Assist with content creation: writing and editing. 
  • Assist with research project for digital marketing campaigns, Pardot campaigns, etc. 
  • Assist with tradeshows and event planning. 
  • Assist with award submittals and public relations efforts 
  • Assist with sponsorship opportunities 
  • Assist in rebranding efforts when new companies are acquired 
  • Assist with lobby monitor content 
  • Assist with internal communications


  • Assist with writing copy for promotional literature, public relation material, marketing collateral, media advertising, websites and internal and external publications designed to boost brand awareness and increase sales. 
  • Edit and adapt work to address feedback received by internal and client teams 
  • Write clear, attractive copy with a distinct voice that aligns with Harris’ brand. 
  • Conduct high-quality research to understand the needs of the business and target audiences through online searches, reviews of existing research, interviews with subject matter experts and in-person meetings. 
  • Edit and proofread copy as needed. 
  • Collaborate with project leaders, sales leaders, executive leaders and other Marketing + Communications team members, etc. from concept development to delivery of final project. 
  • Revise copy based on internal team and leader feedback/direction.

What we're looking for in you

  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, English, Journalism, Creative Writing, or related. 
  • Experience writing and editing for publication, coordinating complex projects either gained in an education or professional environment. 
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading skills. 
  • Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintaining them over time. 
  • Ability to managing one's own time and driving toward deadlines. 
  • InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and WordPress experience.

Pay Range: $18.54 - $27.81 per hour

The actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on a wide range of factors such as specific skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
