Plan your next career step with KWS Seeds, LLC. We are seeking to recruit at the earliest opportunity a Marketing Communications/Content Specialist on a permanent, full-time basis in Bloomington, MN, USA.

Summary / Purpose:

The purpose of the Marketing Communications / Content Specialist is to develop content and execute the internal and external communication strategies in the corporate marketing plans. Ensures that unified, consistent, and positive messages define and promote the brand, follow brand standards, and the corporate identity and mission. The position supports the Marketing Director, branded programs, and specific sales initiatives.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborates with Director of Marketing to create and manage the development of internal and external communications content for marketing plans. Ensure communications meet brand standards and reinforce brand positions. 
  • Project manage the development of content used in PR, marketing materials including literature, advertising, product guides, variety brochure and social media. 
  • Work with external agencies and contractors to deliver communications materials on time and on budget. 
  • Manage the website updates required for all brands. 
  • Manage technical requirement of websites, content management systems to improve user experience 
  • Lead the creation and coordination of national and regional editorial and media calendars. 
  • Help manage the development of branded regional content with regional sales teams. 
  • Collaborate with Marketing Brand Specialists to develop content for websites, social media, PR, programs and promotions, and designated events, meetings, and ASGA events. 
  • Coordinate the communications efforts for KWS North America 
  • Manage budgetary expenditures, work within approved guidelines and report budget status as required. 
  • Document best practices for all marketing channels. Continuously improve internal processes to maximize through put and minimize development time. 
  • Work with Info Loop team to coordinate and the distribute the internal quarterly newsletter. 
  • Create communications protocols and initiatives that foster positive employee morale. 
  • Attend specific industry meetings and events. 
  • Prepare reports as requested by Director of Marketing or VP of Sales. 
  • Special projects as requested. 
  • Attend meetings in regions to present marketing programs, research, and lead photo shoots. 
  • Build and maintain relationships with key strategic partners to better develop, coordinate, direct, and facilitate strategic communications designed to meet business goals 
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications or Content Development. 
  • 5 years prior experience working in a marketing department or agency; or equivalent work experience. 
  • Proficient project management skills to manage several projects at one time and able to provide direction to external agencies and vendors. 
  • Excellent writer and communicator. Comfortable presenting pitches and marketing concepts. 
  • Website development and skills. 
  • Solid understanding for social media and SEO. 
  • Skilled in use of computer hardware and software including Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Power Point,and Share Point, Sales Force Marketing Cloud, and web-based content management systems. Experience with HTML coding, and additional applications within Microsoft Office 365, a plus. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of working with media and PR professionals. 
  • Team player committed to cross-functional team projects and success; responsiveness and accountability are strongly desired. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify alternative solutions and approaches. 
  • Travel 20% of time.
