Marketing Communications Manager
Twin Cities Metro

As Marketing Communications Manager, you will have an exciting opportunity to support key growth initiatives within Wealth Management Solutions at Ameriprise Financial. You will develop unique marketing, communications and/or training strategies, write compelling content and work with an Instructional Design team or agency to build engaging deliverables to increase awareness and drive sales of investment advisory programs and retirement plans. You will measure success by tracking progress against overall business objectives via leading indicators (email open and click-through rates, content downloads and audience feedback) and lagging indicators (sales and net flows). This position reports to the Sr. Director, Product Marketing, Communications and Training.


  • Serve as an expert in product and strategy positioning to help build financial advisor knowledge and deepen client relationships. 
  • Develop integrated strategy plans for marketing, communications and/or training programs. 
  • Draft communications and materials including articles, emails, FAQ, etc. to support project initiatives and drive growth of Wealth Management Solutions. 
  • Work with large cross-functional teams across the organization to ensure alignment and integration. 
  • Evaluate outcomes based on established business and marketing communications objectives. 
  • Act as primary liaison with internal partners – legal, compliance, instructional designers, product development, sales strategy, etc. 
  • Drive measurable program results. Track campaign metrics and provide recommendations for improvements. Execute approved recommendations quickly across the organization to ensure alignment and integration.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in investments or non-financial product Marketing, Communications and Training 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Training or equivalent in a related field 
  • Strong, demonstrated writing skills 
  • Exceptional marketing, communications, project management and organizational skills 
  • Demonstrated success in the discovery, design, development, implementation, and measurement of product/program campaigns 
  • Proven ability to prioritize, coupled with strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to work as a leader within teams to motivate collaboratively influence others 
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently 
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office products (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, Excel) 
  • Active Series 7 or the ability to obtain in 120 days

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of investments and/or financial products and services (i.e., investment advisory/managed accounts, alternative investments, capital markets, retirement plans) 
  • Knowledge of design and email marketing automation tools (e.g., Eloqua, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Adobe Creative Suite)
