OVERVIEW:

The Marketing Communications Manager leads St. Francis Children’s Center’s marketing, communication and outreach efforts. This position serves as a liaison between SFCC and the general public, press outlets and promotional partners. This position serves as content expert with strong verbal and written communication. They are responsible for the coordination of branding, advertising and PR efforts. Reporting to the Director of Development & Marketing this position works as a part of a cohesive development team, in addition to working with colleagues throughout SFCC.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Development & Marketing to plan, implement and continuously evaluate the effectiveness of SFCC’s marketing communications and outreach strategies 
  • Design, draft, proof and transmit Annual Report, newsletters, promotional pieces, appeals, event invitations, donor support projects, planned giving and related communication pieces 
  • Work with Database & Digital Content Coordinator and frontline staff to collect, compose and design/layout “success” stories for SFCC website and social media 
  • Collaborate with Database & Digital Content Coordinator and Development & Marketing Coordinator to compose donor acknowledgement letters including automatic acknowledgement of online and recurring gifts 
  • Coordinate public acknowledgement of large gifts, grant payments, public grant acknowledgements including Press Releases and other media opportunities when appropriate 
  • Assist in the planning and execution of events and other donor engagement opportunities, including securing event speakers and identifying and providing recommendations on potential co-chairs, award recipients and other new partnerships 
  • Deliver presentations to funders, community leaders, government officials and other potential partners 
  • Work with the Development & Marketing Coordinator to identify new events or fresh themes to attract funding and increase engagement 
  • Stay current on mission-related research and trends and compile compelling content and data for reports, grants and other communication pieces 
  • Collaborate with Development & Marketing team in developing annual development and marketing plan and budget 
  • Stay apprised of and make recommendations to pursue local, regional and federal public government grant and contract opportunities, including those that require partnerships with peer organizations, local business, higher education or research institutions, etc. 
  • Attend occasional evening and weekend events on behalf of the Development & Marketing Team 
  • All other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising or Graphic Design
  • Previous work experience in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design preferably in the Nonprofit sector
  • Valid driver’s license and insured automobile for work-related travel

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • High proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills 
  • Expertise in delivering formal and informal presentations to diverse audiences 
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office and Office 365 and Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising software 
  • Experience with website maintenance (WordPress) and social media preferred 
  • Able to work independently and with other departments, parents, donors, volunteers, etc. 
  • Knowledge of nonprofit organizations and the funding community 
  • Strong initiative and client service orientation

Salary Range: $25.00 To 31.00 Hourly.
