The Marketing Communications Specialist role will serve as a marcom generalist and will be responsible for supporting marketing communications initiatives in the Barber & Beauty, Consumer and Animal Divisions, with a focus on advertising coordination, marketing material development, website content management, tradeshow material support and corporate content for LinkedIn. The individual will play a key role in the planning and tactical execution of marketing programs that help the company meet its strategic communications objectives. Copy writing and editing skills are required along with attention to detail.

General Responsibility

  • Assist in the creation/implementation of marketing content and sales promotional materials 
  • Support internal teams with the production of product sell sheets, sales presentations, and work with digital promotion including asset development, animations/infographics and other relevant social media campaigns
  • Supports the Associate Manager–Marketing Communications on photo and video shoots as needed 
  • Maintains a variety of internal reports and project as directed 
  • Coordination of new customer programs as developed

Print Collateral

  • Works with the Events team to manage all printed deliverables for each event or show: Works with Purchasing team to procure printed collateral and signage to support specific show needs and additional requests.
  • Manages complete inventorying of printed collateral: Communicates all updates to the correct stakeholders through Marcomms updates.

Advertising

  • Working with the Senior Manager of Communications, coordinates the Andis ad calendar by tracking schedules, monitoring and reporting on deadlines;
  • Generates insertion orders. 
  • Coordinates submission of ad artwork with marketing team as needed.
  • Maintains, updates, and adds notes to the Advertising database as needed. 
  • Collects and solicits media kits annually. 
  • Keeps records of advertising by publication, as well as files of editorials, advertorials and exposure for recording and measurement purposes.

Digital Content

  • Updates websites with a variety of content including: new products, press releases, imagery, marketing materials, parts lists, pricing, misc. downloadable items. 
  • Assists the Associate Manager–Marketing Communications to maintain the company’s digital asset library and responds to requests for digital assets 
  • Coordinates monthly e-blasts for digital asset library subscriberson a set release schedule. 
  • Develops content schedule for the #InsideAndis social media program and posts to appropriate social channel(s)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a marketing communications or marketing specialist support role required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (e.g. Marketing or Communications) required. 
  • Must have ability to travel for photo shoots as needed. 
  • Experienced project management is a must 
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal for editing and presentations 
  • High energy and flexible ‘can-do’ attitude 
  • Familiarity with email marketing applications e.g. Silverpop, CRM tools, Marketing Automation 
  • Experience working with website content management system. 
  • Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications helpful. 
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat; 
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop a plus but not required. 
  • Excellent at cross functional collaboration to deliver high quality and value-added support 
  • Ability to manage creative processes and deliver consistent, aligned content across multiple communications channels, including advertising, websites, social media, trade shows and events, media relations, partner programs, and other key communications vehicles and activities.
