Columbus McKinnon is looking for a marketing communications specialist to join its global marketing organization. This individual should have a knack for creativity and the ability to develop compelling content for a variety of print and digital media. The marketing communications specialist will play an integral role in helping the company launch and support new and innovative products, working to build market awareness of the company’s portfolio of lifting and intelligent motion solutions.

  • Execute marketing communications plans to disseminate information, generate leads and build market awareness to meet marketing objectives.
  • Work closely with marketing, sales, engineering, product management, manufacturing and external vendors to develop marketing pieces for corporate and product-focused initiatives.
  • Interview technical subject matter experts and research topics in order to convey technical information in an organized, easy-to-understand way.
  • Develop creative and engaging content for a variety of media.
  • Conceptualize, research, write, produce and disseminate the following: Brochures, flyers, technical documents, presentations, FAQ sheets, videos, company newsletters, direct mail pieces, emails, web content, social media, blogs, advertising, case studies, white papers, thought leadership articles, press releases as well as print and digital advertising.
  • Work together with members of the marketing team on all product launch activities, as requested, ensuring communication of key messages and completion of activities on deadline.
  • Assist with dissemination of media relations information and media relationship building Support the Digital Team with the creation of marketing messaging for the Company’s website, Product Information System (PIM), online configurators, blog, social media channels, and other tools as requested.
  • Serve as a key proofreading resource for the marketing department for all print and digital media. Assist in the development and editing of presentations for product management, sales and business unit executives as needed.
  • Maintain company image, incorporating this into all marketing efforts
  • Manage production and project schedules, ensuring all deadlines are met to the satisfaction of internal customers.
  • Recommend improvements to optimize internal marketing processes.
  • Maintain technical competency and remain current in communications and business technology in support of marketing-related activities
  • Complete special projects, as assigned.


  • BS in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, English, or Marketing
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • International and domestic travel <10%
  • Note: Writing samples should be available upon request


  • Experience in a B2B environment 
  • Global experience
