We are seeking a Marketing Communications Specialist to be the “megaphone” for our Smart Infrastructure business, enhancing our reputation and achieving measurable outcomes by driving awareness, perception, and demand generation. As a member of the Smart Infrastructure Communications team, you will partner with the business to develop and execute a communications strategy and measure analytics across the full communications mix to support the marketing objectives and the long-term strategy for our Fire Life Safety business and other businesses as assigned.

This is a hybrid role reporting into our Buffalo Grove IL office.  

 What you will be working on:

Digital Channel Management: collaborate with marketing and business leaders to develop and implement campaigns across various digital channels (product and/or account-based campaign)

  • Paid Search
  • Advertising Strategy
  • Media partnerships
  • Social media

External thought leadership and content programming: work with marketing to craft and implement a Marketing Communications strategy that impacts external audiences.

  • Annual Strategic Comms Planning with Marketing
  • Work with Media Relations, position leaders in thought leadership roles (speaking engagements, interviews, panels, etc.) that support the business
  • Implement and manage various communication channels that help drive marketing and communication objectives as part of the complete communication program. (Elements can include, but not limited to, social media, digital communications, tradeshows, advertising, public relations, events, promotions, direct mail, brochures, website, audio-visual products, etc.)
  • Research, create, and publish customer success stories, projects, products and innovations across multiple channels

Internal marketing and communications strategy and execution: Collaborate on plans that engage and inform both internal and external audiences

Event and tradeshow program management

  • Overall project management of tradeshows and industry events.
  • Budget alignment, management
  • Monthly metrics reporting

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in marketing, communications, or business
  • Proven experience successfully performing the planning, directing, and executing of communications to internal and external audiences
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills with a proven ability to research, analyze, plan, and complete tasks in the areas of message development, campaign creation to drive demand, employee communications, managing meetings, and measuring communications efficiency
  • Experience with social media tools, digital marketing, and communications platforms
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English while communicating through all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to travel 10% as needed
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

The pay range for this position is $72,240 - $150,960 annually. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
