Edgewood College is seeking a Marketing Content Writer to promote the College through creating content for blogs, social media, articles, and the College website through the College’s brand voice and image. Responsibilities include creating a content calendar specific for the College’s social media channels, interviewing subject matter experts and conducting research to write related blog articles, connect with alumni, current students, faculty, and staff to write compelling articles, and write academic program, department, and webpages as needed. Additional responsibilities include assisting with photo and video content and production.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Marketing Strategy, the Marketing Content Writer is a full-time, in-person, position. While this position typically works 8 am-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, occasional weekend and evening hours will be required.

Responsibilities:
The Marketing Content Writer will be primarily responsible for strengthening and bringing greater visibility to the Edgewood College brand by:
Researching, creating, and curating a comprehensive content plan for the College.
- Content specific to social media channels includes:
- Generate, edit, and publish scheduled content that aligns with strategic goals for engagement and awareness for the College’s external audiences.
- Channels include: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube
- Provide social media guidance, establish policies, and expertise for social campaigns.
- Track and report on the College’s social media analytics on a quarterly basis.
- Ensure the College’s brand identity, voice, tone, style is consistent to branding guidelines and across all platforms.
Write and update content on the College’s website, www.edgewood.edu.
- Curate and update content for the Edgewood.edu website, including photos, videos, student and alumni articles, program related blogs, and general content.
- Conduct keyword search and use SEO best practices to increase traffic to the College’s website.
- Identify target audience personas, trends, and needs for gaps in content available.
- Partner with multiple departments, including Admissions, Advancement, and Academics, the Creative Director, and AVP for Marketing Strategy to research, prioritize, and curate content.
- Conduct interviews with students, faculty, staff, and alumni to capture their story.
Analyze and interpret data from social media analytics.
- Measure and report performance of social media campaigns and assess against goals.
- Create reports for review by the marketing and admissions team. Monitor competition and provide suggestions for improvement.
- Capture photos and videos, which would require attendance at campus events, athletics competitions, graduation, etc.
Other duties as assigned
Necessary Education or Work Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, business or a related field
- Minimum 2-4 years marketing and/or communications experience preferred
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to write, create a content plan, manage, and assess multiple social media channels
- Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated creativity and ability to handle multiple projects while meeting concurrent deadlines
- Ability to establish and maintain strong and collaborative working relationships with key constituencies
- Proven content writing and SEO experience
Specialized Technology Skills:
- Experience with the Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with Photoshop, email editing software (Mail Chimp, IContact, Fire Engine Red, or similar program), and social media platforms
- Experience with content management software (Sitefinity, WordPress, or similar platform) preferred
