Position Details

Marketing Coordinator

Develops original social media content and suggests creative ways to attract more students and promote our brand through online marketing. Actively supports the work of the Office of Marketing and Communications. Manages the office’s student workers and interns and ensures their success.

Essential Functions:

  1. Generate, edit, publish and share engaging social media content daily. Suggest fresh campaign ideas and see them through to completion and analysis. 
  2. Serve as point of contact for all internal and external social media requests and monitor all channels for content that needs response or action. Collaborate with campus partners to ensure sub-accounts are on brand. 
  3. Serve as the office’s front desk point of contact and provide administrative support to office staff. Complete correspondence, filing, telephone and related duties, demonstrating an effective attention to detail. 
  4. Assist with meeting and presentation preparation and day-of support during regular Board of Trustee visits. 
  5. Research industry trends and inform team of changes that are relevant to the University’s marketing activities. 
  6. Assist with editorial and proofing support for the office, always keeping in mind the University’s brand standards and editorial guidelines. 
  7. Supervise and coordinate work assignments for student interns and workers. 
  8. Assist marketing and creative services manager with photography and videography needs and day-of management. 
  9. Demonstrate a strong commitment to continuous improvement. 
  10. Support mission, vision and values.

Other Duties and Responsibilities: Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 1-2 years of work experience in marketing or other similar business function. 
  2. Associate’s Degree in a relevant area of study. 
  3. Proficiency and knowledge of best practices on a broad array of social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn, Twitter, Snapchat. 
  4. Consummate professional with strong customer service and communication skills. 
  5. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and demonstrated attention to detail. 
  6. Capacity for managing a heavy workload and balancing a wide variety of tasks. 
  7. Excellent word processing, computer and telephone skills. 
  8. Ability to communicate and build relationships with a wide range of on-and-off campus constituents. 
  9. Ability to work both independently and as a contributing team member.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Design, Communications, or similar field. 
  2. Familiarity with Sprout Social. 
  3. Ability to access WordPress and make web updates (no coding required).
