Hunger Task Force

Established in 1974, Hunger Task Force is Milwaukee’s Free & Local food bank and Wisconsin’s leading anti-hunger organization. Our food bank provides healthy food absolutely free of charge to a network of 213 food pantries, homeless shelters, meal programs, senior centers and community organizations across Milwaukee and Southeastern Wisconsin—effectively serving more than 50,000 people each month. Hunger Task Force also utilizes outreach, education, organizing and advocacy to end future hunger throughout the state.

Hunger Task Force believes every person has a right to adequate food obtained with dignity. We work to prevent hunger and malnutrition by providing food to people in need today and by promoting social policies to achieve a hunger free community tomorrow.

Hunger Task Force is seeking a highly driven, motivated and innovative candidate for the Marketing Coordinator position. The Marketing Coordinator supports all digital marketing aspects of Hunger Task Force’s communications, including social media, website, email, e-newsletters and blogs; and graphic design for the organization's marketing, outreach materials and digital resources.

Social Media Marketing

  • Coordinate agency’s messaging across all social media channels. 
  • Write, design and publish compelling social media content through all agency platforms and generate weekly schedule of postings. 
  • Act as “internal reporter” and proactively seek stories, partner highlights, program features, campaign updates and staff profiles to share across platforms. 
  • Prepare regular analysis of social media performance metrics to present to team and support recommendations for social media strategy and enhanced presence.
Graphic Design, Video & Photography
  • Create branded, vibrant slide designs for I-94 signboard for weekly updates highlighting local partnerships, volunteerism and donor support. 
  • Create design elements for all marketing campaigns, including lobby board, social media cover photos, email signatures, and select flyers for outreach programs and events. 
  • Monitor, manage and update photograph archive and use for all digital and printed media, including light photo editing, sizing, maximizing resolution and other key editing elements.
Digital Marketing
  • Support the communications team with agency website and email marketing and updates.
  • Manage website events calendar and provide website revisions on regular projects, including customized Virtual Food Drives, staff rosters and program updates, via content management system. 
  • Draft content for bi-weekly e-newsletter and website blog. 
  • Provide website analysis and traffic oversight via Google Analytics, including pulling reports, monitoring referrals and supporting recommendations for information architecture. 
Media Monitoring & Support
  • Track, clip and save daily media coverage reports via media monitoring service for dissemination to staff and Board of Directors. 
  • Modernize and organize media coverage in appropriate locations, including keeping detailed interview spreadsheets, sharing highlight clips on YouTube and developing media monitoring reports for sponsor mentions and earned media value. 
  • Support the Development team in general events, food drives, gift processing and other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Journalism or related field
  • Two to four years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Photoshop and/or Illustrator
  • Professional social media experience 
  • Ability to withstand an ever-changing, fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure
