Job Summary:

The marketing coordinator supports marketing strategies for the Milwaukee County Parks System by increasing awareness of the Parks’ services and products as well as increasing revenue through marketing activities using analytical market research. The marketing coordinator also improves not only the public perception of Parks but also internal marketing processes and lead creatively with innovative marketing campaigns.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop social media strategies and best practices across all digital platforms to support the Parks strategic plan. 
  • Incorporate future industry innovation and ai trends into the content to help keep up with the ever-changing digital landscape. 
  • Provide direction and coaching for the Digital Marketing Assistant to align job assignments and workload to organizational priorities. 
  • On a daily basis, edit and update all websites’ content and track analytics to find opportunities to streamline operations. 
  • Support all social media platforms and manage the online presence. Gather, create, and edit content that includes photos and videos for digital usage. 
  • Collaborate with other divisions within the organizational system to ensure content is accurate and available for dissemination in a timely manner. 
  • Assist with the coordination of media inquiries and investigate opportunities including press releases, interviews, etc. for media exposure. 
  • Ensure consistent, accurate, and timely external communication to partners. 
  • Create and maintain email distribution lists for independent business lines. 
  • Prepare and deliver quality internal communication pieces through write-ups and editing of copies as well as provide talking points. 
  • Participate in special project teams and community outreach efforts. 
  • Use of Equipment– Operate computers, general office equipment, audio equipment, visual equipment etc.

Required Education, License/Certification and Experiences:

  • Current residency within the State of Wisconsin upon application required
  • Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License required and must be maintained throughout incumbency 
  • Associate degree or higher in Digital Marketing, Social Media, Graphic Design, or closely related field required 
  • At least five (5) years or more work experience in Digital Marketing, Graphic Design, Website Development, and Communications required. 
  • At least six (6) months or more of work experience in a Supervisory or Management role required 
  • Intermediate knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications required (e.g. Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel) 
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Webflow, Word Press, Squarespace, and Wix required 
  • Agency experience preferred. 
  • Google Data Analytic experience preferred.

Full-time, Hourly.

Salary Range: $61,568 - $73,465.60.

(Hourly: $29.60 - $35.32/hr)
