We have an opening for a Marketing Coordinator to support marketing functions of the Strategic Communications department. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Coordinator helps support the marketing strategy and execution for exhibitions and programs across channels to advance the MCA brand. The position also contributes to the development of brand innovation and communication strategies for exhibitions and museum reputation, and works closely with the design, media relations, and content strategy teamsand external partners to support plans, content, and creative channels that build the MCA brand.

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Support the Marketing department's initiatives with the planning, executing, and tracking of MCA marketing programs such as email, event, social media, and/or content marketing. 
  • Assist with marketing programs including email, social media, and content marketing for MCA Store and Marisol Restaurant. 
  • Assist with managing and updating images, content, and video for partner marketing programs; route content for ad campaigns, building signage, promotional materials, the MCA website, and more. 
  • Evaluate and monitor campaign performance on an ongoing basis by analyzing key metrics and assist in creating comprehensive reports. 
  • Assist and maintain an accurate filing, reporting, and invoicing system for all vendors, partners, and comply with general office procedures. 
  • Preparation and/or audit of documents and reports including meeting recaps, marketing calendar, expense and comp reports, accounting, billing, and invoicing. 
  • Facilitate the off-site distribution of MCA materials such as brochures, postcards, etc. 
  • Work in conjunction with other teams, internal stakeholders, and external agencies and vendors to ensure consistent delivery of the Museum’s marketing strategies and campaigns that bring marketing tactics to life. 
  • Support the Director of Marketing and Chief Communications and Content Officer. 
  • Schedule appointments and meetings with internal and external partners; compose and circulate minutes for weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly meetings and manage any follow-up needed from these meetings.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, media or related field or equivalent experience. 
  • 1-3 years of experience translating marketing objectives into strategies and plans. 
  • Demonstrated strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to collaborate with team members across departments and drive results in a nimble environment. 
  • Ability to understand and analyze trends and a deep understanding of the wide variety of marketing channels. 
  • Experience developing content for print, digital, and social media.

This is a full-time position, with a Monday - Friday 9a-5p schedule that may occasionally include evening and weekend availability as required to fulfill responsibilities and for related museum activities. Ability to perform occasional light lifting, operate computers, printers, and telephones and general mobility throughout the building required. The hourly rate for this role ranges from $18.91-$24.34.
