SouthWest Transit is an award-winning public transit agency serving the core areas of Chaska, Chanhassen, and Eden Prairie. We currently offer express bus service to and from Downtown Minneapolis, the University of Minnesota, and Normandale Community College as well as daily on-demand micro-transit service in our core service area as well as adjacent cities in Carver, Scott, and Hennepin counties. In addition to our regular services, we also offer seasonal services including the Minnesota State Fair, Twins Express, Vikings Express, Gophers Express, select concerts, and more.

Position Details

Marketing Coordinator
Twin Cities Metro
Eden Prairie, MN

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Marketing in the effective development of marketing plans, public relations, and communication projects, graphic design, print and electronic media initiatives. This position often works in a team environment to support all Southwest Transit departments. The individual at times will provide customer service and route information from the main reception area, ensuring accurate and relevant information is provided in a professional manner to all transit customers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute on marketing campaigns, ensuring alignment with company objectives and priorities. 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on projects specific to their department (i.e., vehicle graphics for operations, advertising for human resources, etc.) 
  • Develop annual B2C marketing calendars that include all services and drives the B2C marketing initiatives for the agency. 
  • Create print and digital collateral that accurately reflects SWT’s brand - these include banners, posters, flyers, brochures, and more. 
  • Support the marketing team’s initiatives through planning, executing, and tracking of marketing such as email, event, social media, and content marketing. 
  • Grow SWT’s digital presence and tell the story of SWT through blogs, newsletter articles, social media, website content and UX, etc. 
  • Ensure brand consistency across all external facing collateral. 
  • Create, proofread, and edit copy for various marketing channels. 
  • Represent SWT at events through tabling and engaging with the community. 
  • Assist in coordinating and leveraging sponsorships, partnerships, and community outreach efforts. 
  • Assist in maintaining visual elements of the brand including logos, color schemes and other brand assets – ensure all output adheres to the style guide. 
  • Participate in the execution of surveys, focus groups and other with SWT’s target audience. 
  • Identify opportunities to leverage marketing utilizing different channels to reach a different audience. 
  • Stay current with marketing trends and incorporate concepts into SouthWest Transit’s marketing plans. 
  • Coordinate and edit SouthWest Transit’s internal newsletter. 
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Skills & Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, English, Communications, or related field 
  • 2+ years’ experience working in B2C marketing 
  • Creative & resourceful – strong attention to detail 
  • Understanding of audience, demographics, and marketing channels 
  • Strong social media skills – desire to be in front of, and behind, the camera 
  • Excellent communication and project management skills 
  • Experience in graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva, etc.) 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

$60,687.00 - $80,809.00 Annually.
