Assist the Marketing and Public Relations Manager in ensuring brand consistency, overseeing creative workflow, utilizing continuous improvement practices for adjusting processes, and modeling best practices as an individual contributor to the creative group. Provide supervision, direction, coaching, and support for creative group staff. Assist the Marketing and Public Relations Manager in monitoring publication and professional services budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Serves as both a creative resource and Supervisor for the Marketing creative team.

a. Ensures brand, tone of voice, writing, and quality standards for all marketing deliverables are consistent and on par with organization expectations.

b. Oversees timelines and planning of marketing projects in collaboration with marketing leads, marketing and public relations manager, and marketing projects coordinator.

c. Promotes and utilizes strategic marketing practices with proficiency, including the use of planning briefs, kickoff meetings, and project debriefs and measurements.

d. Oversees marketing creative processes and flow of work.

e. Coordinates overflow and special project work with outside creative agencies. Initiates scope, creative brief, and any required requests for proposal necessary to utilizing outside services.

f. Acts as an individual contributor to creative team through copywriting, designing, project management, or multimedia expertise – utilizing, directing, and modeling best practices in these areas.

g. Serves as an advocate for learning, adopting, and promoting the use of marketing project management systems and other marketing technology tools and systems upgrades and transitions

2. Supports Manager of Marketing and Public Relations with Process Management

a. Identifies areas, coordinates planning, and executes actions for continuous improvement in creative and department processes.

b. Contributes to strategic planning for department as member of department leadership.

c. Helps monitor publication and event collateral budget in coordination with marketing division leads and manager.

3. Leads and directs assigned staff

a. Leads and directs assigned staff: i. Coordinates work schedules to ensure proper coverages, ii. Approves time off, reimbursable expenses, and changes to work schedule, and iii. Leads the performance evaluation of assigned staff

b. Coordinates work activities of assigned staff; organizes and prioritizes projects and workload; effectively delegates and monitors work

c. Provides direction for day to day operations

d. Ensures adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures; correcting errors or problems

e. Provides coaching and feedback to assigned staff; Provides regular progress reports to Manager of Marketing and Public Relations

f. Functions as a role model

4. Other duties as assigned.

  2. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, Access

  11. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications - InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premier 
  12. Ability to learn and adopt new marketing project management systems and other marketing technology tools 
  13. Ability to lead meetings, initiate difficult conversations, and model productive and best practice creative strategies 
  14. Ability to work well under pressure and respond positively and productively in an environment with rapidly changing deadlines and priorities 
  15. Exceptional relationship-building skills to deal effectively with individuals at all levels of responsibility and authority 
  16. Ability to embrace and model usage of Sourcewell’s Situational Leadership and related communication tools

Required Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in related field 
  2. Minimum of five years of marketing experience 
  3. Two years of experience in leading or directing projects, people, or teams 
  4. Demonstrated experience as final approver of creative projects, including design, copywriting, and video production 
  5. Valid MN driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Five years of experience in leading or directing projects, people or teams
