The Designer will join the Creative team, home to our Design, Product Development, R&D, Brand, and Marketing teams. We are looking for an experienced and result-driven design expert to join our awesome team! As the designer you will be responsible for the creation of on-brand digital and print visual assets from emails, website content, and social media to advertising, catalogs, and showroom collateral.

The goal for these efforts is to increase brand awareness through both B2B and B2C channels, to ultimately drive and grow sales. You will work with the Marketing Manager and other internal talent to help define our brand story, in addition to developing consistency for our brand's storytelling. You must have an obsession for content performance, ownable aesthetics and unique storytelling.

Our designer will lead the development of our design initiatives with a visionary mindset, to build brand awareness and drive sales. The right candidate is exceptionally creative with a willingness to take initiative and an ability to see the larger business objectives achieved through visual communication. Your work will be measured by development of the aesthetic our brand is known for and the ease and creativity through which we reach our customer. Your mission is to create value for our customers, fostering deep customer satisfaction and advocacy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Design

  • Design innovative & inspiring digital and print collateral that builds brand awareness and drives sales 
  • Assist and own the creation of digital and print deliverables that bring creative, practical solutions ot the table 
  • Design wholesale print catalogs within tight timelines in collaboration with a large team of internal and external partners 
  • Manage design deliverabes in a highly organized, intuitive manner within our fast-paced environment 
  • Manage and coordinate print and production of finished work as required to ensure projects get delivered correctly and on time 
  • Ensure original & relevant POV across all points of visual communication 
  • Manage catalog layout from initial design concept to hand-off of final layout to Production, including several rounds of internal routing 
  • Collaborate with photographers, stylists, copywriters, producers, printers, sales and product development to create catalogs for our ILLUME brands, licensed, and private-label collections/brands

Art Direction

  • Ensure a high standard of visual execution & branding across all collateral and campaigns 
  • Direct look, feel, and creation of assets for ILLUME-brand retailer and consumer digital platforms 
  • Ensure seamless messaging and original & relevant POV across all points of communication 
  • Ability to work under the creative direction of the Marketing Manager and VP-Creative 
  • Planning concepts by studying relevant information and materials 
  • Illustrate concepts by designing examples of art, prop, and product arrangement, size, type size, and style Inform creative direction and visual tone of materials based on concepts from 
  • Design team and direction from VP-Creative 
  • Makes design format decisions that work within project budgets and align with marketing plans 
  • Works with Traffic Manager to arrange photoshoots 
  • Directs photoshoots

Print Production

  • Manage and coordinate print and production of finished work as required to ensure projects get delivered correctly and on time 
  • Have a basic understanding of production-ready files and work with our in-house Production team to ensure best practices are accounted for 
  • Be diligent about timing and accountabilities, working ahead to stay on top of workload 
  • Be willing to produce small projects in-house, including but not limited to small-run prints and showroom collateral 
  • Attend press checks to ensure proper color matching

Continuous Improvement

  • Passion for evolving digital media & platforms as well as print formats 
  • Understanding of the latest in design and industry trends as well as best practices
