Marketing Manager - IoT Connected Products

Zurn Industries isseeking a highly motivated and experienced Marketing Manager to develop and execute the go-to-market product strategy for our assortment of IoT-enabled, connected plumbing products. In this role, you'll be responsible for driving incremental demand and accelerate revenue growth with the creation of compelling messaging, positioning and sales enablement materials. You will also meet and interact with customers and channel partners face-to-face, provide VOC/VOS insights, and help to strategically inform the product roadmap.

The successful candidate must have a passion for storytelling and content-creation to fuel the acquisition, engagement and retention of new and existing customers, with demonstrated project management and collaborative skills. Your performance will be measured against the success of growth-marketing strategies, as well as your ability to work effectively with others from product management, engineering, business development and marketing, to achieve measurable results.


  • Voice of Customer: Develop comprehensive knowledge of target customer segments, their industry dynamics, our competitors, and the operational nature of customers' businesses, to build a deep, fact-based, and data-driven understanding of how Zurn’s IoT-enabled smart, connected products uniquely positions the organization to win. Translate that knowledge into clear insights and digestible materials to inform leadership, new product development, marketing communications, and business development. This role will require you to get on the phone and out of the building to talk to prospective and current customers face-to-face.
  • New Product Launch Strategies: Work with product management and business development throughout the entire new product development process and lead the organization through the introduction of new products and new product features. Develop go-to-market and launch strategies that focus on driving demand to deliver impactful business results. Enable customer engagement teams by training on the launch narrative (market problem, targeted audience, buyer needs, messaging and positioning, use cases and launch goals). Partner with marketing to drive customer awareness and product adoption of new releases. Conduct launch retrospectives to continually refine and improve your launch framework. 
  • Sales & Marketing Enablement: Produce crisp, clear, scalable and compelling materials for marketing and sales - to support pilots, and full funnel marketing and sales activity. These will include buyer personas, customer stories, website updates, videos, pitch decks, internal training materials, and more. Work closely with marketing to identify the right channels to reach new prospects, and craft messaging to inspire action. 
  • Channel Strategy Development: Identify, investigate, and validate current and potential sales channels while working closely with both marketing and sales to develop and execute channel marketing strategies. 
  • Presentations: Be a product spokesperson, both internally and externally. Explain Zurn’s vision, demo our offerings at events, and showcase the best of Zurn to our stakeholders and customers.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Experience engaging with Marketing, R&D, Sales & Executive Management in setting goals & objectives including Voice-of-Customer (VoC), Go-To-Market (GTM), and Sales/Monetization efforts and proposals. 
  • Partner closely with business unit leaders, product management, and business development on go-to-market strategies, product training, content creation, internal and external communications. 
  • Proven track record in successfully launching and delivering new products / services into the market; ability to create clear plans and to motivate individuals cross-functionally to execute. 
  • Identify and deliver results against key performance metrics, ensure accurate & timely tracking/reporting, and share critical insights across the organization. 
  • Create lead generation/sales funnel activities through the company customer relationship management and marketing automation programs. 
  • Assist with event coordination and the development marketing and promotional materials for tradeshows and other sales and marketing events. 
  • Excellent verbal presentation and written communication skills are required including the ability to deliver presentations to senior and executive management 
  • Demonstrated ability to grow innovative products, while assessing trends and insights in a rapidly changing and dynamic environment 
  • Positive attitude and an energetic work ethic in a collaborative team-based environment 
  • Background in SaaS and cloud-based software for a manufacturing-based organization a plus 
  • Knowledgeable with CRM and marketing automation programs a plus (Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, Hubspot, Kentico) 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing. Master’s Degree preferred. 
  • Required travel: 10%-20%
