The Marketing Manager is responsible for supporting strategic marketing by implementing traditional and digital marketing campaigns aimed at recruiting and retaining blood, platelet, and plasma donors for the local Memorial Blood Centers (MBC), and for New York Blood Center Enterprises (NYBCe).

This individual is responsible for overseeing the activation of marketing materials and upholding the organizational brands. As a member of the Donor Engagement (DE) and Divisional Donor Marketing teams, this individual will collaborate on national and local programs, tactics, and tools for building donor frequency, growing the donor base and other strategic priorities. The Marketing Manager is a local ambassador of the DE team, and key partners of the divisional Donor Recruitment and Collections teams. As the point of contact for local marketing, this individual will share with marketing management ideas that are specific to the MBC service areas.

This individual will also oversee marketing communications and marketing promotions to support donor engagement. Assists the Senior Manager, representing our brands in our communities and to media channels, providing leadership and direction to team members, and managing efforts that further the vision and mission of the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and assist in developing campaigns, plus execute initiatives using multiple channels including e-mail, text, social media, etc. 
  • This individual is an essential part of the “sensory system” of the Donor Experience Team. The Marketing Manager will play an active role in observing donor experiences to support opportunities for improvement in our service, with a goal of delighting our donors. Monitor, recommend and work to improve the Donor Experience at both fixed sites/donor centers and mobile blood drives. 
  • Review and understand benchmarks and metrics for determining marketing strategies and decision making. 
  • Analyze marketing campaigns and email results, report on ROI and recommend changes and best practice. 
  • Oversight of recurring and ad hoc donor communications. 
  • Learn and understand applications used to manage donor communications (e.g., HemaConnect) 
  • Support mobile blood drive recruitment initiatives and projects. 
  • Understand and review donor recognition activities and events. 
  • Work with internal and external vendors. 
  • Represent MBC at media events/media interviews as needed. 
  • Support critical collections planning and be responsive to emergency needs. 
  • Act as brand champion and ensure brand consistency across all channels. 
  • Support Donor Engagement Marketing teams. 
  • Assist with supervising staff and supporting relationships with peers, media, and external partners.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/Communications or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Experience:

5-7 years of experience in marketing environment.
