The Marketing Manager serves as the key marketing liaison to the organization's membership strategy and serves as the subject matter expert on membership for the marketing team. In this role, you will help plan, execute, and report on year-round marketing campaigns that engage new members and inspire existing members to renew by creating engaging content for all stakeholders and the 245 communities we serve.

While reporting to the Director of Marketing and Brand, the Marketing Manager oversees integrated, cross-channel marketing campaigns to achieve our membership goals for girls and volunteers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the strategic development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of marketing campaigns for Girl Scout membership activation. 
  • Oversee creative direction for digital and print collateral, working with in-house designer and assets from GSUSA. 
  • Partner closely with cross-department liaisons to plan assets, monitor campaign implementation, and track success of campaigns. 
  • Develop copy and content for all aspects of campaigns. Marketing campaign components may include, but not limited to email marketing; print brochures; direct mail; print advertising; display advertising; digital and social media marketing; print or media feature articles and stories. 
  • Partner with marketing team to serve as brand ambassadors to organization. 
  • Support marketing team’s efforts with other departments and campaigns as needed. 
  • Daily monitoring of campaign and delivery performance 
  • Create emails and email automations using Salesforce Marketing Cloud. 
  • Create and edit landing pages as needed. 
  • Develop social media strategy for assigned campaigns. 
  • Partner with other marketing staff to manage social media presence. 
  • Measure effectiveness of marketing campaigns to continually improve ROI from marketing efforts. 
  • Analyze campaign results and generate performance reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field 
  • Minimum 3-5 years of marketing experience 
  • This position requires the ability to write professionally, communicate effectively, work cross-departmentally, create marketing plans and multitask. 
  • Some experience maintaining a website and digital media platforms. 
  • Strong understanding of social media ad management. 
  • Experience writing and editing marketing content required. 
  • Web analytics experience a plus
  • Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills 
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Experience using Customer Relationship Management software – Salesforce preferred. 
  • Experience with email marketing platforms required—Salesforce Marketing Cloud a plus. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Google Analytics experience a plus 
  • Minimal local travel. Some nights and weekends required to attend events, fundraisers, and programs taking place across council (greater Chicago and northwest Indiana).
