The Marketing Manager is primarily responsible for the implementation of marketing strategies in support of the growth of ASGE and its courses and conferences. The incumbent will be a part of a cross-functional communications team and requires close coordination with various departments within ASGE. The Marketing Manager is responsible for the development and production of brochures, collateral materials, advertisements and electronic communications. Responsibilities include ensuring that projects achieve the desired results and that they are completed in a timely manner and within budget.

  • Execute marketing strategies that leverage data and support the success of ASGE educational courses and conferences; 
  • Under the leadership of the director of marketing, work with cross-departmental task forces to design and implement marketing strategies; 
  • Manage material development and related vendor processes including graphic design, print, proofing, approvals, fulfillment and mailing; 
  • Develop external and internal advertisements and e-mail communications; 
  • Measure and communicate results and implement marketing plan changes, as necessary; 
  • Develop and execute project schedules and deadlines, working within assigned budgets and processes. 
  • Conduct research that informs the positioning of ASGE courses and conferences within a competitive market; 
  • Work closely with team members and content providers to promote the ASGE brand and improve the integration of ASGE’s marketing and communications efforts across all forums.
  • Bachelor degree (BA) in marketing, communications, business administration or related discipline; 
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in course or event marketing; 
  • Demonstrated success in project management, marketing implementation, market research and promotional copywriting; 
  • Expert-level competency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). 
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Acrobat Professional. 
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or similar photo-editing software. 
  • Experience with Web content management systems, broadcast email systems and membership/customer databases. 
  • Knowledge of file formats for print and online environments. 
  • Knowledge of terminology used by design and print vendors; 
  • Excellent copywriting, editing and proofreading skills. 
  • Keen time management and budgeting skills; 
  • Previous association or non-for-profit experience is a plus;
