GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This position will build and enhance the university brand awareness through quality paid advertising, direct mail, email campaigns, print materials, and responsible for crafting and executing digital paid media campaigns. The Marketing Manager will work directly with assigned colleges, and other university clients as needed.

COMMUNICATIONS

This position requires exceptional verbal and written skills, and the ability to interact with upper administration, faculty, staff, students, and print vendors. The marketing manager will be assigning work tasks to other members of the M&C team and will need to provide clear instructions to provide proofs/content to meet deadlines. This position will assist with paid media initiatives for the university and it’s colleges. This position will also use an on-line project management program called Wrike to communicate project details/proofs/quotes and invoices; will be working in Marketing Cloud for email campaigns for the undergrad admission office; and will need a working knowledge of Google Apps (email, docs, forms) to share files with internal university clients including other M&C team members.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

This position requires exceptional customer services and customer relationship management skills. The ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with university clients, and outside vendors and to provide extraordinary value to all constituencies is essential.

Key Responsibility: Assist specific university colleges with marketing needs, which include strategic planning and review (print and email campaigns), work directly with M&C team (design, writing, web, and social), maintaining projects in on-line PM system (Wrike), and approval processes. Percentage Of Time 35.

Key Responsibility: Project manage the requests that come in from assigned university clients/colleges. Work with other M&C team members to make sure each task is completed in a timely manner to hit target deadlines. Percentage Of Time 20.

Key Responsibility: Assist with paid media efforts, including Google Ads, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Percentage Of Time 20.

Key Responsibility: Manage electronic communication system (Salesforce/Marketing Cloud) as needed for college email plans. This is the email system used to send all electronic communications to current students and faculty members. Percentage Of Time 15.

Key Responsibility: Must be adept at identifying potential roadblocks related to budgets, resources and timelines, and reporting these potential issues to their supervisor (AVP), when necessary. Percentage Of Time 5.

Key Responsibility: Assigned other projects as needed. Percentage Of Time 5.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree — preferably in marketing, communications, or related field is required, or the equivalent combination of education & work-related experience.

Knowledge & Skills

Must have at least 2 years of experience in advertising, marketing or enrollment advertising campaigns. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Google Analytics, social media ad buys, working knowledge of Marketing Cloud or another marketing email platform, and strong database knowledge and skills are required.

Must be able to attend meetings outside of the office; can work at a computer for multiple hours per day in a normal office environment.
