Position Details

Marketing Manager
Southeast Wisconsin
Milwaukee, WI

The Marketing Manager plans, manages and oversees all aspects of a marketing campaign to effectively promote Islands of Brilliance (IOB) programming, events and fundraising. Marketing Manager will develop and implement creative and unique strategies to drive interest through multiple media channels with the goals to acquire students, generate revenue, and create awareness. They work closely with the Director of Engagement to ensure IOB brand standards are always upheld in communications.


  • Leading marketing campaigns and initiatives from the idea stage through to their execution and implementation. 
  • Working with other department heads and staff to build plans and marketing strategies to promote IOB overall, the individual programming and fundraising initiatives. 
  • Lead and optimize SEO, SEM, and/or Social Media strategies and execution. 
  • Lead the social media team in creating campaigns that are fresh and effective. 
  • Analyze traffic and trends of IOB website, create dashboards with the Director of Technology to share within the organization. 
  • Use CMS (Squarespace) to create and modify digital content on IOB website. 
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to identify and bring together the right resources as needed to achieve goals. 
  • Be a Doer of the work as part of the team. 
  • Collaborate with finance to set and stay within the budget of advertising. 
  • Staying current with emerging opportunities in the digital marketing world. 
  • Able to work with colleagues at all levels to develop marketing goals and evaluate results.

  • Passionate about IOB’s mission and able to promote and communicate the philosophy, mission and values of IOB both internally and externally. 

Technical Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising or related field required. 
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Marketing or Advertising, preferably in a Digital focused role or agency. 
  • Fundamental understanding of SEO, SEM, and/or Social Media strategies. 
  • Well-versed in the use of social media as a marketing tool 
  • Experience with search engine optimization, lead generation, and email marketing 
  • Analytics/Google Ads Certified 
  • Familiarity with Squarespace or other Content Management Systems 
  • Understands website metrics and best practices 
  • Proficient use of Google Suite/Workplace is required. 
  • Experience using Neon (or similar CRM database) is strongly preferred.
