The Marketing Manager plans, creates, manages, and oversees all aspects of a marketing campaign to effectively promote Islands of Brilliance (IOB) programming, events, and fundraising. This position develops and implements creative and unique strategies through multiple media channels with the goals to drive awareness, acquire students, and generate revenue. They work closely with the Director of Strategic Operations to ensure IOB brand standards are always upheld in communications.

  • Lead all marketing campaigns and initiatives from the idea stage through to execution and implementation. 
  • Work with leadership to develop and maintain an overall annual marketing plan and calendar based on organizational objectives. 
  • Support organization’s communications needs with partners such as donor, mentor, and payer cultivation. 
  • Plan and execute Social Media including developing overall strategy, calendar, content creation, posting, and monitoring social listening. 
  • Create monthly and campaign emails using NEON CRM. 
  • Create and manage paid digital advertising campaigns leveraging various platforms (ex. Meta and Google). 
  • Analyze traffic and trends of IOB website, social media, advertising and emails. Create Key Performance dashboards and monthly marketing report. 
  • Plan and execute SEO strategies. Use CMS (Squarespace) to create and modify digital content on IOB website. 
  • Manage the process of website content creation including blogs, student stories, mentor highlights, and all website page updates. 
  • Process includes sourcing (interviews, research, graphics), writing, project management for other authors, and building on website. 
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to identify and bring together the right resources as needed to achieve goals. 
  • Be “THE Doer” of the work as part of the team. 
  • Collaborate with finance to set and stay within the budget of advertising. 
  • Stay current with emerging opportunities in the digital marketing world. 
  • Able to work with colleagues at all levels to develop marketing goals and evaluate results.

Personal Qualifications:

  • Able to translate objectives to develop strategies and actionable plans. 
  • Develop and lead marketing measurement scorecard. 
  • Organizational and time management skills, especially planning ahead. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize. 
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision. 
  • A positive and energetic team player with a flexible and creative approach. 
  • Passionate about IOB’s mission and able to promote and communicate the philosophy, mission and values of IOB both internally and externally. 

Technical Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, or related field required. 
  • 3+ years of professional experience in Marketing or Advertising, preferably in a Digital focused role or agency. 
  • Well-versed in the use of social media as a marketing tool. 
  • Experience with search engine optimization, lead generation, and email marketing. 
  • Analytics/Google Ads Certified. 
  • Familiarity with Squarespace or other Content Management Systems. 
  • Understands website metrics and best practices. 
  • Proficient use of Google Suite/Workplace is required. 
  • Experience using Neon (or similar CRM database) is strongly preferred.

Salary range: $45,000–$56,000. Paid time off (PTO).
