The Marketing Manager will plan, execute and evaluate tactics that successfully grow patron engagement and retention along with ticket revenues. The Marketing Manager is accountable for revenue goals by product/campaign and is expected to track sales on a daily basis. The successful candidate must be strategic, but also comfortable managing the details of marketing plans.

Job Duties:

  1. Plan, manage, implement and evaluate sales strategy and tactics for subscription and single ticket products/campaigns as assigned across all sales channels and advertising mediums. 
  2. Track single ticket sales on a daily basis, working with Director of Marketing to forecast sales and report on promotional efforts and sales tactics. 
  3. Write marketing plans, manage media buying and promotional partnerships, manage the production of direct mail, print, broadcast, outdoor and online advertising for products/campaigns as assigned. 
  4. Plan advertising and promotional strategy based on budgeted goals. Continuously monitors and adjusts advertising/promotional strategy as necessary to maximize ticket sales. 
  5. Work closely with Digital Marketing Specialist to create digital marketing plan (paid social, display and email marketing) for assigned products/campaigns. 
  6. Serve on cross-departmental CRM strategic working group, creating and executing tactics for segments as assigned to deepen patron loyalty and support patron retention. 
  7. Uses all research and tools available to gain a deep understanding of the orchestra’s audience. 
  8. Oversee and manage audience development and group sales initiatives, working in tandem with marketing coordinator and marketing assistant.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required, with a minimum of 3-5 years of arts marketing and advertising experience. 
  • Proven expertise in creating integrated marketing/advertising plans that drive revenue and engagement. 
  • Direct experience with a symphony orchestra and/or performing arts presenter preferred. 
  • Working knowledge of classical music helpful, but not essential. 
  • Understanding of and experience with Tessitura is a plus.

  • Self-starter with a commitment to achieving sales goals 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation abilities 
  • Superb organizational skills and efficient time management 
  • Ability to track and monitor marketing budgets 
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of advertising and marketing disciplines 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment required 
  • Knowledge of and experience in the symphony orchestra field and/or other performing arts fields

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time; 
  • Ability to speak and write English proficiently; 
  • Ability to use computer hardware, including keyboard and mouse.
