This pack member will play a crucial role in helping Sidewalk Dog achieve its growth goals and objectives. Initial focus will be to hit the ground running on growing our Chicago, Denver, and Seattle pet-parent audiences quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively while continuing to grow and nurture our Minneapolis-Saint Paul audience.

Note: Applications will be reviewed and interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis. In order to assess your ability to assist in growth initiatives through informed marketing strategies, all applicants will be required to complete a short assessment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, execute, and oversee growth-focused cross-platform marketing strategies (email, paid social, website, etc.) for Sidewalk Dog’s four markets 
  • Produce analysis, insights, and visibility on performance through dashboards you create and maintain 
  • Assess current marketing databases and platforms to optimize effectiveness while researching and implementing new processes and vendor relationships that streamline operations 
  • Assist with market research strategy and database 
  • Work closely with Content Manager to write, edit, and distribute short-form content, both original and sponsored, across our digital channels 
  • Market our popular and growing collection of dog-friendly lists, guides, and other short-form evergreen and seasonal content, seeking opportunities to repurpose and syndicate when applicable 
  • Help reach potential advertisers and support B2B growth through marketing initiatives 
  • Build relationships with media outlets in our four target cities 
  • Collaborate with sales team in developing content ideas and deliverables for client proposals and providing clients with outstanding service and results 
  • Manage marketing intern(s) 
  • Continually analyze, simplify, and improve marketing processes 
  • Support the pack with a willingness to try on any hat and pitch in at any level at any time
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field 
  • Proven marketer who understands and has worked across the full digital marketing funnel for a minimum of 3-5 years 
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and strategic thinker with expertise in performance tracking, measurement, and attribution 
  • Proven leader with a strong start-up mentality—excited to help grow and scale a business 
  • Solid understanding of audience targeting and segmentation 
  • Proficient in SEO best practices 
  • Ability to easily capture our voice (relatable, witty, irreverent) 
  • Positive, energetic, curious, and professional 
  • Exceptional time management skills and the ability to remain calm and solution-focused in times of change and ambiguity 
  • Must LOVE dogs (sharing a home with one isn’t required, but you gotta love ‘em!) 
  • Agency and/or media/publishing experience is a huge plus 
  • Extra kibble for applicants with design experience & Google Ads & Analytics certifications

COMPENSATION:

  • Commensurate with experience.
