Essential Job Functions:

This position reports to the Executive Director of Marketing and University Communication and will oversee marketing plans and development of campaigns for the University with a priority given to meeting the needs of internal clients including the Division of Enrollment Services, Colleges of: Health, Education and Social Welfare; Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; Science, Engineering and Technology and the Cofrin School of Business; and the University’s Extended Campus programs. As a liaison to these key areas, the Marketing Manager will lead a variety of marketing and operational projects, requiring both strategic and tactical marketing skills as well as a strong working knowledge of traditional and new marketing channels. The Marketing Manager is expected to be proactive, outgoing, organized, collaborative, entrepreneurial and detail-oriented, while also possessing excellent oral and written communication skills. This position willcollaborates with and supervises team member(s) focused on student marketing recruitment initiatives. The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing annual marketing plans and strategies for the internal clients assigned and working with agency partners. Major areas of focus include website enhancement, digital marketing, creative copywriting and proofing, print marketing, email marketing, digital marketing, social media channels, marketing research, digital analytics, lead generation and data management.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Lead development of marketing planning and strategies for various internal clients. 
  • Lead team members in the development of plans and deliverables based on client objectives. 
  • Supervise Marketing and Communication Recruitment Specialist and Intern. 
  • Serve on the Marketing and University Communication Leadership Team. 
  • Create integrated marketing plans and innovative campaigns/materials for internal clients, in alignment with UW-Green Bay institutional goals and academic plans, marketing guidelines, institutional practices and administrative policies. 
  • Research societal change and demands through market studies and data analytics to influence current and future strategies. 
  • Provide project management for the development of plans and production and implementation of marketing and advertising deliverables, ensuring all work is delivered on time and on strategy. 
  • Ensure good communication/collaboration between Marketing and University Communication and assigned clients, staff, internal and external clients. 
  • In conjunction with the University’s external media partners, research, evaluate, recommend, purchase, manage, and measure paid media activity to include traditional and emerging media in the areas of print, broadcast, digital, outdoor, streaming radio and television, paid sponsorships and more. 
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the University’s third-party digital marketing partner, developing annual strategies and plans for Admissions and other internal clients. 
  • Assist with project writing/editing as needed, and approve marketing and advertising deliverables while ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Stay abreast of new and emerging trends, strategies, technologies and opportunities that will allow the university to be more efficient and cost-effective in meeting its advertising and marketing objectives. Leverage the latest trends, methodologies and technologies into actionable marketing plans.
  • Organize marketing meetings to develop plans, timelines and ensure buy-in. Responsible for monitoring project timelines to keep participating team members on track.
  • Recommend enhancements to the usability, design and content of websites.
  • Assess data and evaluate program impact/return on investment.
  • Construct, analyze and track marketing budgets.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field at time of application 
  • 5 years experience in progressive marketing 
  • Understanding of marketing concepts, strategies, and/or best practices 
  • Experience with the development and/or delivery of integrated marketing plans and tactics 
  • Experience with budgeting including constructing, managing, and/or reconciling 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines 
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency with the ability to use data bases, spreadsheets, word processing applications and/or project management software 
  • Entrepreneurial attitude

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in related field 
  • Higher education experience 
  • Experience in recruitment or consulting

Salary Salary range of $50,000-$60,000.

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
