VISIT Lake Geneva is hiring! We’re looking for a confident, creative, and community-minded individual to join our team as Marketing Manager. Job responsibilities include managing VISIT’s social media platforms, content creation, photography and video development, website maintenance, management of our partner co-op marketing program, and assisting with VLG’s signature events and other marketing projects.

VISIT Lake Geneva – a Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau located in southeast Wisconsin – is looking for a confident, creative, and community-minded individual to join our marketing team. Under the guidance of and in collaboration with the Vice President of Marketing (VP), the Marketing Manager will support VISIT Lake Geneva’s marketing and communications strategies through content creation and distribution, including copywriting, graphics development and photography/video curation on its social media platforms, website, email and other online and offline channels. The Marketing Manager will also develop digital and print marketing materials, manage a co-op advertising program for VISIT Lake Geneva Partners, and work on various creative projects with VLG staff and vendors. This is an onsite position with offices located in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin with flexibility for some remote working.

ESENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Social Media

  • Manage day to day content and engagement on all VISIT Lake Geneva social media platforms. 
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar consistent with VLG social media strategy and overall company objectives. 
  • Write, design, edit and publish compelling social media content reflective of VLG’s brand message.
  • Curate and edit photo/video content for social media/web use and asset library. 
  • Monitor community and partner content for timely and relevant sharing opportunities. 
  • Prepare regular analysis of performance insights and provide recommendations for social media marketing efforts. 
  • Maintain an ongoing knowledge base of social media trends, best practices, and innovations.

B. Website

  • Perform website updates including content, navigation, forms and minor design using CRM/CMS website platform.
  • Create new website content including blogs, articles, promotions, photography, and video.

C. Email Marketing

  • Develop content calendar and curate assets for monthly consumer email communications. 
  • Write, design and deploy emails in alignment with content calendar and brand strategy. 
  • Monitor email performance, report monthly insights, and maintain subscriber list using third party email service tools.

D. Partner Co-Op Program

  • Manage a cooperative advertising program consisting of web, email, and social media marketing opportunities exclusive to VLG Partners. 
  • Create and deploy partner ads, emails, and posts to meet program deadlines. 
  • Communicate with program participants on materials needs, deadlines and other deliverables. 
  • Prepare monthly co-op invoicing summary for office manager. 

E. Creative Development

  • Create design elements for social media campaigns, email graphics, and web use.
  • Design collateral pieces and publications such as posters, flyers, reports, and presentations. 
  • Maintain digital asset library of photos, video, logos, graphics and documents to ensure brand standards across all communications. 

F. Other

  • Assist VP with production of annual Visitors Guide and Local Services Guide publications through partner outreach, proofing, writing, and content sourcing. 
  • Contribute ideas and solutions for development of marketing and communications strategies, content calendars and campaigns. 
  • Assist Events Manager with VLG events and promotions as needed. Assist and support Vice President and CEO with projects as assigned. 

COMPETENCIES

  • Proven work experience with key social media platforms (Facebook/Instagram/Twitter/LinkedIn/ Youtube/Tiktok) including strategic planning, organic and paid content development, video editing and analytics tools. 
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator a plus. 
  • Experience with social media scheduling platforms and CMS/CRM systems a plus. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong knowledge of online communication strategies and best practices. 
  • Ability to produce original and compelling creative content with attention to detail. 
  • Proficiency in Office 365 and Google products. Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical abilities. 
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments. 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field, or Associates degree with minimum of one year of relevant work experience. 
  • Minimum one year of social media management experience. 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Position is onsite. Regular office hours Monday through Friday. 
  • Flexibility for some remote working. 
  • Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required for meetings, events, or partner functions.
