ABOUT THE POSITION:

Designs, executes, writes, and evaluates WF’s annual marketing strategy and supporting content that is digitally focused and multi-channeled. WF marketing’s goals are to increase engagement, create awareness, and fuel fundraising toward WF’s purpose and programs through relevant messages and content. Manages the day-to-day execution of the Worldwide Foundation’s marketing operations and tactics that realizes strategic communications goals. This role would share a % of accountability for annual WF fundraising results. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Design:

  • Serves as architect of WF’s annual marketing plan that guides messaging and content development ahead of the coming year. Selects and/or creates imagery and video content to support message copy.
  • Designs content in compliance with WF brand guidelines.
  • Contributes strategic input to the design and messaging connected to WF’s annual case for support and annual appeal.
  • Coordinates collateral design with external vendors, designers and contractors as necessary. Writing
  • Creates unique message copy that speak to specific donor personas and program communities that supports annual WF objectives across engagement & fundraising.
  • Updates website with written content as needed.
  • Writes content for WF newsletters, blogs, social media, press releases, articles in trade publications. Identifies external content to cross-share to "content recycle".
  • Leads and/or collaborates on video script writing.

Execution:

  • Distributes content across an integrated, monthly content calendar.

Social:

  • Leads content, manages discussion and responds to feedback with user communities on all WF social media channels via Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Web:

  • Updates and distributes content through WF’s website, www.doglobalgood.org, program websites www.cuwomen.org & www.wycup.org. 

eNewsletter:

  • Updates and distributes Field Notes, WF’s monthly eNewsletter.

Annual Report:

  • Creates a digital or video version of WF’s annual report. 
  • Collaborate with World Council’s Director of Corporate Communications to bring the WF brand and messaging to joint or WOCCU-focused messaging.
  • Facilitates audience discussion and engagement at virtual and in-person WF events. 
  • Video: Basic video editing/creation preferred.

Evaluation:

  • Leads marketing segment of weekly WF staff meeting and represents WF at monthly editorial meeting.
  • Collects and acts on data to drive WF channel engagement and delivers targeted content to segmented audiences.
  • Hits assigned engagement benchmarks by quarter.
  • Provides engagement data for all WF written and oral reports, by quarter.
  • Conducts marketing research methods annually and as needed. 
  • Leverage Cision, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, and similar tools to measure marketing program impact.
  • Identifies and suggests new or different metrics to track. Experience and Skills 

WHAT WE REQUIRE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Advertising, or related field preferred. 
  • Three years minimum of professional experience in a marketing or communications role in a nonprofit/ charitable foundation or a for-profit organization. 
  • Demonstrated success in managing, growing, and measuring social media networks. 
  • Demonstrated success working with a website content management system. 
  • Excellent written, editing, proofreading and in-person communication skills, ability to work well with diverse teams. Strong attention to detail. 
  • Aptitude and experience in storytelling is a plus. Proven success in creating, distributing, and evaluating communications content or campaigns that resulted in an increase in audience engagement and/or fundraising. 
  • Able to prioritize, manage and handle multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to be positive, self-motivated and a reliable project manager. 
  • Experience with the financial services and credit union sector a plus. Legal right to work in the US on a regular, full-time basis without the need of sponsorship for a visa 
  • Fluency in English is required. Bilingual skills not required but a plus. Ability to craft messaging that is simple, yet clear and inspiring. 
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Proficiency with database software and contact management systems. Certification in Adobe Design Suite preferred. Domestic and international travel to two annual events will be required
