Job Purpose:

The Marketing Professional is responsible for leading the brand portfolio in developing business strategies and marketing plans to meet the company’s short- and long-term sales, market share, and profit goals. This individual ensures and enhances brand positioning, equity, and financial wellbeing for the brands. In addition, this person works cross-functionally with Sales, Trade Marketing, Supply Chain, R&D, and Finance to prioritize activities, managed the P&L and ensure business objectives are achieved or exceeded.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Budget Control: Manage P&L and marketing budget. Identify changes impacting the budget and proactively communicate implications and recommendations. 
  2. Project Management: Manage and flawlessly lead execution of various projects. Foster collaboration, motivate, and inspire teams to achieve their highest potential. 
  3. Marketing Plan: Develop and execute marketing plans in the areas of Advertising/Media, Consumer Promotions, integrated programs, and Public Relations. 
  4. Media Planning: Work with Media agency to develop strategy and media plan for business.
  5. Consumer Promotions: Create a strategy, manage relationships with promotional agencies, plan and execute various forms of promotions. 
  6. Product Testing and Research: Aid in product testing and research and work closely with Marketing Research Unit (MRU) to gain strong consumer insights. 
  7. Brand Performance: Identify studies to carry out, work with MRU and suppliers to execute research to track business results and overall brand equity. 
  8. Business Performance/Competitive Landscape: Analyze monthly Nielsen data and other research resources and report on business and competition. Utilize the information to develop a hypothesis and draw conclusions that support the objectives of the business.
  9. Product Formulation/Optimization: Lead cross-functional team, partnering closely with R&D for successful and timely completion of product reformulation and COGS improvement.
  10. Customer Specific Marketing Programs: Partner with Sales to identify opportunities with key customers in the areas of promotion, packaging, sampling, among others. 
  11. Packaging: Develop a clear understanding of brand identity standards (standard colors, logo, etc.), coordinate projects, and communicate progress. 
  12. Other duties as assigned

Additional Information:

  • Bachelor’s in Business Administration (Marketing, Management); MBA preferred 
  • 3-5 years CPG brand experience; food industry experience preferred 
  • Solid Marketing skills coupled with the ability to work independently 
  • Strong presentation and communication skills to influence both internal customers (senior management & cross-functional teams) and external marketplace, distributors, customers and consumers 
  • Solid understanding of P&L and budget management experience 
  • Solid project management experience 
  • Ability to develop and create new initiatives for the brand and assigned businesses 
  • Understanding of marketing strategies, IRI/Nielsen syndicated data, and research methodologies 
  • Fundamental understanding of other functional areas that impact the business P&L 
  • Strong analytical skills 
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and maintain attention to detail 
  • Strong ability to work in teams and build good working relationships 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
  • Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and potentially internationally
