Job Purpose:

This Marketing Professional - IMC contributes to business growth by creating strategic and influential stakeholder relationships and communications to drive brand awareness, consideration, engagement, equity/”premiumization”, affinity/love, advocacy, and reputation.Furthermore, this role is essential to design and share key messages to ensure consistency across internal and external stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities:

1. EARNED MEDIA PROGRAM

  • Lead strategy, planning, development, and execution of Earned Media brand programs across Pasta/Sauce/Bakery according to business objectives. 
  • Coordinates with Brand, Paid Media, CEl, Experiential, & Shopper Marketing efforts to ensure strategic linkage across initiatives, find potential synergies and opportunities for integration and amplification. 
  • Ensure open cross-functional communication and feedback. 
  • Adhere to timeline and budget. 
  • Assist with editorial content/programs (nutrition, shopper, digital, media, etc), as needed. 
  • Lead external Earned Media agencies from SOW development and negotiation to execution compliance and reporting. 
  • Lead influencer and media events, coordinating with a PR agency to ensure flawless execution, exceptional influencer experience. 
  • Oversee public relations programs in Canada, provide feedback and guidance for the Canadian team. Cross-share key learnings on USA PR programs and expertise. 
  • Author, maintain/update corporate, brand, product, events, RDQ/consumer relations, external talent, and ERG key messages – across all product and brand portfolio (Barilla + Wasa + Mulino Bianco) and Americas markets (Canada + Brazil + Mexico + Puerto Rico). 
  • Coordinate approvals with legal and other stakeholders.

2. INFLUENCER SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT

  • The lead evaluation process of potential influencer relationships with the agency. 
  • Develop, review, and collaborate all influencer briefs. 
  • Coordinate the vetting process with an external agency. 
  • Provide guidance/expertise on all influencer programs under media/always-on digital/shopper programs, share best practices. 
  • Review content to ensure compliance. 
  • Manage, oversee, and build/maintain relationships with global and local spokespeople/talent. 
  • Craft contracts, lead negotiations, manage relationships (“handler”), ensure compliance with external stakeholders, talent, and influencers as needed (ie chefs).

3. REACTIVE MEDIA & OTHER AD HOC CORPORATE SUPPORT

  • Support Sr. Manager with reactive media situations pertaining to crisis/incidents and/or D&I related. 
  • Coordinate risk-assessment with external experts. 
  • Participant in the Crisis Management Team. 
  • Lead, manage, execute various ad hoc opportunities, including company award submissions, message training to C-Suite for conference opportunities, or D&I/ERG assistance

4. CONTENT PRODUCTION

  • Lead design and production of all in-house team creative content & assets such as recipe photography, recipe editing, video, infographics, literature to support the brand and corporate communications. 
  • Manage, direct, and execute all stages of the process including but not limited to storyboard, copywriting, propping/staging, operations, and coordination. 
  • Ensure superior quality and brand guideline compliance. 
  • Act as subject-matter-expert and guide other colleagues through the process. 
  • Coordinate approvals among key stakeholders. 
  • Manage all creative freelancers.

5. LEADERSHIP

  • Manage, develop, and oversee agency relationships and contracts to ensure brand standards are respected and programs are executed flawlessly. 
  • Oversee direct reports to managing the IMC budget and payment process, including vendor set-up, NDA, MSA, PO, Invoicing, etc. 
  • Lead professional development and work of direct report. 
  • Lead Cision reporting and analysis. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required (Marketing, Communications). MBA a plus 
  • At least 5-8 years’ Earned Media experience required 
  • Consumer packaged goods experience required, ideally in food manufacturing; passion for food a plus 
  • Exceptional work, professional and business ethics with positive energy 
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to professionally engage with external stakeholders 
  • Strong ability to work in teams and build good working relationships, but also work independently 
  • Ability to navigate ambiguous situations 
  • Adept at collaborating and working cross-functionally 
  • Strong project management ability 
  • Superior writing/copywriting skills 
  • Strategic understanding of brief-writing 
  • Understanding and experience with creative content development and production processes (ie propping, storyboarding, workflow) 
  • Strong organization/attention to detail 
  • Solid strategic and analytic skills 
  • Strong experience & understanding of digital tools and applications 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
