Position Purpose:

Upholds the Credit Union’s mission of “Doing the Right Thing” by executing the strategies to promote the overall image of the credit union and its products and services. Primary responsibilities will include providing ideas for campaigns; coordinating campaign elements; designing ads and signage; communicating with vendors, employees and members; connecting with members and potential members via social media; analyzing media channels and managing budgets; assisting with events and charitable activities; and looking for opportunities that promote the Credit Union philosophy.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes the routine member correspondence such as social media posts, statement inserts, brochures, and special notices. 
  • Coordinates website strategy, updates and analytics. 
  • Coordinates branch appearance by developing and executing lobby displays, outside banners, marquis notices, and doing marketing audits. 
  • Develops and executes direct mail campaigns and print advertising that tie specific promotions to our overall image. 
  • Coordinates and participates in various charitable activities the Credit Union supports. 
  • Works with individual Branch Managers to help support needs specific to that particular branch. 
  • Tracks and controls expenditures as they relate to the advertising/promotion/public relations function. 
  • Assists in the creation and execution of ongoing branding campaigns. 
  • Keeps employees informed of any advertising/programs in a timely manner. 
  • Maintains an awareness of current products and stays informed of new industry developments and potential products/services. Responsible for maintaining an effective working knowledge, including the technical aspects, of these products. 
  • Conducts market research to maximize the advertising results as it applies to target marketing, demographic considerations, delivery channels, and media selection. 
  • Interprets key documents and makes decisions based on Credit Union policies and member data. 
  • Assists the Assistant Vice President of Marketing with the continuing an emphasis of member advocacy. This can include, but is not limited to, conceiving and producing promotional materials and exploring new avenues of business. 
  • In addition to the primary duties, may assist the Assistant Vice President of Marketing in various other duties including, but not limited to, researching projects, special events such as grand openings or new product launches, and overall branding functions. 
  • Limited travel required to various branches, meetings, seminars, and conferences.

Necessary Experience and Qualifications:

  • The ability to read, write, and comprehend detailed and technical instructions, regulations, correspondence, and memos; and to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals as normally acquired through completion of a high school education, coupled with an associate’s degree in Marketing, or related field, or two years of previous work experience in Marketing/Graphic Design. 
  • Must be able to operate an online computer and basic office machines, as normally acquired through a basic course or one to three months of on-the-job experience. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs. 
  • Must have the ability to manage a budget, pay close attention to detail, and maintain an extremely high degree of accuracy as it relates to both expenses and promotional material. 
  • Requires a thorough knowledge of the member advocacy process in general. Must be able to effectively communicate with a diverse group of employees, both on an individual basis as well as in group settings. 
  • Requires a basic knowledge of Credit Union products, services, and procedures as normally acquired through three to six months of on-the-job experience. Requires the ability to conceptualize and implement things in a changing environment. 
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for twenty five to fifty percent of work time. Must be able to closely examine documentation. Requires a high degree of accuracy. 
  • Ability to stay organized and to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible. 
  • Requires the analytical ability to research and resolve problems/concerns from both external and internal customers and to be able to provide common-sense answers. Must be able to translate technical (procedural) information for a non-technical audience. 
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and efficiently with a diverse group of employees, members, and potential members (business partners and related business partners). Sets the example by maintaining a professional demeanor and atmosphere. Requires strong oral and written communication, listening and public speaking skills. Demonstrates good motivational skills. 
  • Requires excellent project management skills and the ability to lead teams of all sizes. 
  • Requires the ability to write effectively in a wide variety of situations including, but not limited to, specific target markets, various levels of employees and management, the general public, business professionals, and members of the media. 
  • Must possess knowledge of local marketing mediums and strategies.
