Marketing Specialist

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Global Marketing Manager, the Sr. Marketing Specialist will “wear many hats” and be actively involved in the development and implementation of the overall marketing strategy for the company. This position closely partners with cross-functional teams to support marketing programs and coordinating activities to align with G&W’s strategic business goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the Global Marketing Manager to develop a marketing and communications strategy that is based on global and local business requirements consistent with G&W’s overall mission, vision and long-term objectives. 
  • Support the development, planning, implementation and tracking of Go-To Market strategies for identified product lines with a multi-reach, integrated approach. 
  • Track & analyze campaign effectiveness utilizing and provide continuous communication to marketing and sales teams. Provide daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and/or annual reports showing results and learnings. 
  • Manage the marketing requirements to the new product launch schedule by working with New Product Realization, Product Management and Sales teams. 
  • Own and collaborate with New Product Development (NPD), Sales, and Product Management to update and maintain product sales tools, literature, presentations, web content etc. 
  • Coordinate and track inventory, maintenance and ordering of Demonstration Products for events, tradeshows, mobile demo units and Customer Solutions Center (CSC). 
  • Stay up to date of competitor marketing activities; provide ongoing suggestions for ways to keep G&W Electric in the forefront of marketing in our industry and advancing the company’s presence, market share and profitability.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Marketing or Communications major preferred with 5 years related marketing experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience required 
  • Ability to effectively manage projects, including establishing timeline, action items, budget needs and expected outcomes 
  • Ability to influence without authority at multiple levels of management 
  • Must be flexible in a fast paced and changing work setting while maintaining a positive attitude in a customer service environment 
  • Self-motivated, self-starter; able to work independently and as part of the team 
  • Good “people” skills and establishes strong working relationships internally and externally 
  • Identifies issues and makes timely, tough and objective decisions, also under pressure 
  • Ability to gain an understanding of the business quickly 
  • Desire to continue to learn

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expert in Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint and especially Excel) 
  • Experience with CRM software (SFDC, etc…) 
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Brand and reputation management understanding 
  • Buying behavior and customer segment understanding

Physical Demands:

  • General Office Environment, PC use 
  • Light Lifting (occasional 25 lbs or less) 
  • Standing
