Position Summary:

Horton’s marketing department is seeking a talented and eager Marketing Specialist to take full responsibility of overseeing the strategy and execution of Horton’s social media, planning of in-person and digital events, internal communications, project management and assist with execution of inbound marketing strategies for both traditional and digital channels. Our ideal candidate is a creative marketing professional with exceptional project management and interpersonal skills who thrives in owning projects from start to finish and the go-to person for on-going marketing processes. Your event planning, project management and graphic design background will play a vital role to Horton’s marketing efforts. Utilize your creative skills to develop content that attracts and engages customers on print and digital platforms while also exploring untapped opportunities. Apply your meticulous attention to detail competencies to assist in managing and gate keeping day-to-day marketing task that comes from Horton staff while looking for opportunities to improve current processes and systems. For this position, it’s also essential to be a team player with a strong willingness to learn, be agile and can effectively execute while navigating ambiguity with minimal direction. Exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills around senior level executives is imperative as there will be many occasions to present information to internal stakeholders and senior leadership team. Ultimately, you should be able to help increase brand awareness and create preference across multiple market segments and geographies for Horton.

Responsibilities

Marketing Specialist - Responsibilities:

Event Management and Planning

  • Own the event planning process from start to finish which includes but not limited to: event registration, working with tradeshow, promotional item and analytics vendors to coordinate North America (US, Canada, and Mexico) shows, promotional items and giveaways, product display and booth messaging (literature, graphics and video monitors) and analytics reporting.
  • Manage event calendar ensuring information is up-to-date, deadlines are met and properly communicated to stakeholders for in-person and online events.
  • Assist Account Managers with strategizing creative concepts for customer engagements and executing on deliverables.
  • Compile post-event reports including lead analysis, engagement metrics, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Partner with vendors and agencies for event services, promotional items, booth design, data engagement tracking and printing needs.
  • Oversee promotional item inventory and budget from external vendors with marketing management’s guidance.
  • Manage tradeshow and event-related budgets, including tracking expenditures, processing invoices, and reporting variances.

Content Development

  • Develop creative marketing content that drives customer engagement and positions Horton as industry leader for both print and digital.
  • Assist and coordinate with various departments content to communicate with staff via Horton’s intranet site, email platform, and internal company digital displays.
  • Create and publish marketing material in line with the marketing plan to support lead generation campaigns, internal communication, and external company updates.
  • Occasionally produce copy for Horton’s website/blog regarding industry updates, event recaps, and other related topics.
  • Partner with Sales and Account Management staff to create custom literature for field reps to utilize for customer engagements

Digital Responsibilities

  • Own the social media channels and schedule aligned with overall marketing plan by producing content, design, and video that promotes the Horton brand.
  • Assist marketing leadership with providing creative agency direction for paid ad initiatives on social media and search engines.
  • Produce consistent social media reporting to highlight opportunities and successes.
  • Optimize social media presence with customers across various channels leveraging all tools available
  • Assist with coordinating setup of equipment and execution of digital events including – webinars, vlogs, and podcast.
  • Work with CRM team to design email templates for external communications that builds customer engagement

Project Management

  • Assist with managing workflow of marketing task items via project management tools.
  • Prioritize marketing tasks and projects daily and communicate effectively to stakeholders.

Other

  • Execute on other administrative marketing task and projects as assigned.

Marketing Specialist - Required Qualifications:

  • Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a Marketing, Management, or similar majors that focus on marking communications.
  • Note: equivalent education equals 2 years of closely related experience for 1 year of education.
  • 1 year minimum work experience in areas of traditional business, marketing, and/or communications. 
  • Graphic Design experience
  • Copywriting ability
  • Excellent English communication
  • Editing skills
  • Up to 25% travel required.
  • Must be able to show legal authorization to work in the United States. No Visa sponsorship provided.

Marketing Specialist - Desired Qualifications:

  • Event planning/management on a large scale is a plus.
  • HTML/CSS proficiency
  • Fluency in another language is a plus; specifically German and/or Spanish
  • Familiarity with Engineering, and/or Manufacturing industry
  • Previous knowledge of Horton and/or thermal management control products is a plus.

The estimated hiring range for this position is $63,000-$70,000 per year plus bonus. Compensation will increase within the range based on experience and qualifications.
