Position Description:

The Marketing Specialist for Hydro-Thermal is responsible for attracting site traffic, converting that traffic into new leads for the business, and nurturing to close those leads into customers. In addition, the Marketing Specialist will coordinate and execute tradeshows and other events.

The Marketing Specialist’s responsibilities fall into five key categories: Inbound marketing, content development, channel partner communication, events/tradeshow coordination, and industry team liaison.

Inbound Marketing / Demand Generation / Lead Generation

  • Build and manage a rich content/editorial calendar that attracts a qualified audience to our owned properties (including blog posts, whitepapers, ebooks, reports, webinars, infographics, etc.).
  • Grow new leads, including marketing-qualified leads, by converting site traffic through calls-to-action, landing pages, and lead generation content (including offers).
  • Optimize our marketing automation and lead nurturing processes through email, content, and other channels.
  • Establish closed-loop analytics with sales to understand how our inbound marketing activity turns into customers, and continually refine our process to convert customers.
  • Manage and build various email lists and campaigns, including the design templates, calls-to-action, and content used in your email sends.
  • Segment lists based on behaviors like past email engagement and website interactions.
  • Measure results and optimize the nurture tracks for these segments to convert leads to customers.

Content Development

  • Create 1-2 free resources each month to drive leads, subscribers, awareness, and/or other important metrics
  • Blog in support of your other projects and to attract site visitors through search, our email subscribers, and other channels.
  • Grow our subscriber base by providing them regular, helpful content that’s in-tune with their needs.
  • Contributing to long-form content projects such as ebooks.
  • Conducting analytical projects to improve blog strategies/tactics Build our editorial calendar and written guidelines.
  • Determine sources for content creation, both internally and externally.
  • Serve as an exemplary writer, consistent with our company’s tone and mission. You write clean, concise, well-polished copy.
  • Edit content produced by your teammates, including conceptualizing the projects upfront and copy-editing prior to publishing.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and customer challenges in order to build a more effective editorial calendar.

Channel Partner Communications

  • Manage all channel marketing communications (newsletters, webinars, product notifications, etc.).
  • Create blog content and other helpful resources to arm our channel partners with everything they need to succeed.
  • Collaborate with other marketing teammates to ensure our channel partners are considered in every program and campaign we run.

Events/Trade Show Coordination

  • Plan, organize and implement logistics for trade show exhibition and training events including booth design/shipment, and overall presentation.
  •  Securing booth space, sponsorships, booth furniture, audio-visual needs, and registering internal teams for trade shows
  • Managing and coordinating with external trade show vendors for the shipping of materials, displays and banners to show sites
  • Maintaining inventory of sales and marketing materials/literature, booths, displays, giveaways and all other assets
  • Executing pre-event and post-event marketing activities as it relates to events, including execution of direct mail and email campaigns
  • Overseeing and coordinating lead retrieval process with tradeshow attendees to grow marketing databases
  • Compiling closeout event reports and maintain trade show data
  • Assisting with client-based lunch and learn event marketing and follow-up by collecting leads for our databases and providing certificates to attendees of our courses
  • Managing annual event budget and expense tracking and assist with forecasting annual budgets
  • Maintaining company merchandise catalog as well as develop and improve ordering processes.

Qualifications/Education:

  • BA/BS or equivalent working experience in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field 
  • Minimum of 3-5 years related experience and/or training. 
  • A passion and strong understanding of the industry and our business' mission 
  • Experience marketing to industrial B2B audiences a plus 
  • Proficiency in email marketing, marketing automation, and blogging software features in order to generate traffic, convert visitors into leads, and then nurture them (using dynamic workflows) into converted customers. 
  • Excellent communicator and creative thinker, with an ability to use data to inform all decisions. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • You will be working with other business professionals and are expected to convey the value of our product and programs and the culture and beliefs of our company outward to our partners.

  • You’re highly creative and an excellent writer but can also be process-driven, think scale, and rely on data to make decisions. 
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to adopt the style, tone, and voice of our business' various types of content 
  • Excellent attention to detail both for line editing copy and consistency in style and tone across our content. 
  • Advanced level proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Word.
