This position requires a creative, enthusiastic team player to help promote WHEDA’s mission and financing products. Areas of focus for this position include developing marketing materials as well as executing promotional, advertising, and social media strategies. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Develops marketing tools for all business units within WHEDA.  Includes: researching and writing collateral materials; developing and posting web site content; managing WHEDA’s social media presents; creating digital images to support online content and overseeing projects from inception to final production; 

  • Manages timelines for new product announcements and assists the Marketing Director with the development of marketing materials to promote new products and services;|
  • Participates in the development of marketing strategies for new initiatives or existing products.  This includes conducting research into current housing and economic development trends, and analyzing data, and creating project plans;

  • Oversees production of online training and live webcasts.Assists business units with script content and design; 

  • Responsible for crafting WHEDA’s public “best messages” for verbal, written, email campaigns and social media; 

  • Designs, creates, edits, and activates images, copy, content, banners and marketing content for social and web utilizing WHEDA brand standards and marketing guidelines;

  • Manages, measures, and analyzes social media performance and initiates recommendations to enhance engagement;

  • Provides back-up for public relations activities, including writing and producing news releases, press kits, newsletters, announcements, videos, audio files, and/or other written or verbal materials as needed;

  • Negotiates services with outside vendors, includes understanding budget, WHEDA’s contract policy, timeline and specifications for marketing related projects;

  • Maintains confidentiality as it pertains to customer information and any other information obtained in your role as a WHEDA employee.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE: 

Candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in a closely related field and 2+ years of experience related to the area of assignment; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Knowledge required for this position includes:

  • AP Style;
  • Public relations principles and practices; 
  • Marketing principles and practices; 
  • Communications policies, principles, practices, and procedures; 
  • Printing principles, practices, and procedures; 
  • Social media, digital analytics, e-mail marketing principles and best practices; 
  • Advertising principles and practices; 
  • Statewide and local media. 

Skills required for this position include:

  • Writing, editing, and scripting documents; 
  • Developing and implementing public relations and marketing materials; 
  • Developing key messages for public consumption; 
  • Interpersonal skills as they relate to dealing with media; 
  • Identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems; 
  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or other design program;
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously; 
  • Project management skills; 
  • Conducting research; 
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
