The Marketing/Sports Information Coordinator will be responsible for evaluating and implementing creative and effective strategies to improve promotional and recruitment opportunities for three campuses in southeast Wisconsin. Through utilizing a project management approach, the successful candidate will manage athletic and admissions recruitment events, coordinate advertising & media relations, website, social media, lead marketing, promotional efforts and develop community relationships with community groups as appropriate.This candidate will also assist with sports information in the publicity, promotion and multimedia game day needs of Bryant & Stratton College’s three sports programs. Project management and communications/marketing plan development required. Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills, analytical and project management skills are required. Graphic design, web and video editing experience a plus.

 

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Marketing Coordinator Focus (50%)

  • Coordinate and ensure implementation of appropriate communication strategies by using existing, or in some cases creating new, tools in an effort to successfully implement Milwaukee’s evolving marketing plan.
  • Plan and implement on- and off-campus events such as open houses, career fairs, lunch and learns.
  • Compile, analyze and distribute marketing and lead generation statistics and data to measure progress toward goals.
  • Provide feedback on print, broadcast, outdoor and web page advertisements, video script writing and editing.
  • Increase community awareness of the college through public relations activities with the goal of continuing to enhance the brand awareness of the college.
  • Work with the Marketing Director to maximize revenue and lead generation including the identification of alternative sources of leads.
  • Through effective research identify areas for penetration and increasing market share
  • Accountability to the overall team goal through an integrated approach to sales and marketing.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue and lead generation and maximization of all marketing efforts.
  • Ensure that BSC follows ethical and accepted communication practices and that BSC standards are met on all projects.
  • Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of media expenditures. Reconcile the College’s local advertising expenditures.
  • Design flyers and other marketing materials.
  • Represent the college at community functions when appropriate.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Sports Information Focus (50%)

  • Updating athletics website and game coverage for assigned sports.
  • Assist with the management of athletic social media accounts.
  • Coordinate overall media relations for the Milwaukee colleges by establishing and maintaining business and media contacts with the goal of creating highly effective partnerships to ensure maximum exposure of the college.
  • Produce highlight videos, manage athletics on YouTube.
  • Coordinate video streaming of athletic events.
  • Available for all tournaments to assist/manage.
  • Manage event setup and tear down of sports information equipment at home athletic events.
  • Assist and lead the in-game statistics using Stat Crew and Presto Sports software.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Keep current with technology, innovative marketing techniques, communication trends,and political operating environment through extensive reading, memberships and involvement with peers in greater Milwaukee.
  • All other projects as defined by the Director of the Milwaukee Colleges and/or Campus Director.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a bachelors degree in the areas of Public Relations, Media Relations, Marketing, Sports Management or Sports Information.
  • Communications with related work experience required
  • Project management experience desired with demonstrated analytical approach
  • Experience with color printing, project management, desktop publishing, media relations and communications/marketing plan development required
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision, to persuade & motivate staff and to work as a team player
