ABOUT THE ROLE

You will partner with the co-leaders of Education to drive the development of marketing strategy and messaging for our global Education practice. You will be charged with building compelling stories and brand strategies aligned with the practice’s vision to deliver unprecedented value to our clients.

You will report to the co-leaders of the Education practice and includes a secondary report to the firm-wide leader of the Brand, Marketing and Business Development team (BMBD). Success in this role relies heavily on developing a strong and symbiotic relationship with our Education practice co-leaders and our Education Communications Manager, creating a “core team” that functions as a driving force and voice for the Education practice, internally and externally. The role also requires developing strong working relationships with the Marketing team within BMBD to help fuel strategy and content for our most strategic pursuits.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Lead the development of market-specific brand messaging that aligns with the Education practice’s strategy, creates a compelling advantage for CannonDesign and differentiates us from our peers. 
  • Lead the quality of brand messages and materials for Education and work collaboratively to ensure unified messaging is delivered consistently across the practice. 
  • Partner with our firmwide Education Leaders and the BMBD team on market-specific strategy and competitive differentiation to direct and support business plan priorities and pursuits. 
  • Develop custom market intelligence to inform how we target clients and resulting opportunities with those target clients. 
  • Develop deep knowledge of our Education portfolio and how we can leverage our experience to position ourselves for the “win.” 
  • Work closely with pursuit teams to develop strategy for proposals and interviews, develop and write bespoke content for proposals and interviews, and act as interview coach for our most significant pursuits. 
  • Partner with the Education Communications Manager on non-pursuit related projects, including thought leadership, events and national conferences.
  • Curate Education-specific content to create the “best of” CannonDesign Education. Be the gatekeeper and go-to resource of this curation so that it’s widely known and shared with the practice and BMBD team.
  • Act as owner of bi-monthly Education Practice Leader meetings—an opportunity to share ideas, content, intelligence and expertise. Drive agendas and coordinate preparation.
  • Oversee the Education’s top line performance—develop reporting and analysis that keep practice leaders in touch with performance against KPIs, the advancement of strategic pursuits and other factors driving performance.

ABOUT YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business Strategy or a related field. 
  • Minimum 10 years of related industry experience required. 
  • Must be collaborative, self-driven and entrepreneurial. 
  • Ability to maintain and prioritize deadlines, and work in a deadline-oriented environment. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to “manage up” and work successfully with senior leadership. 
  • Education market experience required. 
  • Experience with data gathering, research analytics and visualization a plus. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud and InDesign. Salesforce and Miro desirable.
