Are you an experienced, ambitious Marketing Strategist looking for an opportunity to advance your career and take on new challenges in the travel industry? If so, read on! We are looking for a Marketing Strategist to join our high-energy team and take full-on responsibility for helping grow the Down Under Endeavours and Africa Endeavors businesses by developing and implementing a marketing strategy and plan that drives profitability, brand consistency, and overall business growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand the business and industry including trends, competitors, and marketplace dynamics 
  • Conduct data analysis and consumer research to identify new market opportunities, understand and further define consumer targets, and identify consumer preferences 
  • Set specific marketing goals that align with business goals 
  • Design and implement marketing strategies to meet goals 
  • Develop a marketing plan that includes KPIs, campaigns, tactics, timing, costs, expected return, etc. 
  • Implement the plan, with internal and external partners, including: Developing, launching and optimizing campaigns (content, paid media, organic, etc.) to drive qualified site traffic and leads 
  • Optimizing our main sites of DownUnderEndeavours.com and AfricaEndeavours.com 
  • Ensuring brand alignment through all marketing channels to increase brand awareness and equity 
  • Track and measure marketing outcomes including marketing activities, response, leads, sales, retention, and ROI and optimize campaigns based on performance 
  • Analyze sales performance, including customer feedback, to recommend plan changes 
  • Provide direction to and collaborate with internal colleagues and external partners 
  • Work with the team to forecast market trends 
  • Generate innovative ideas to reach or exceed marketing goals and develop business cases to support the investment in those ideas, new marketing strategies, and other projects 
  • Assist in strengthening our web presence as consumer trends evolve, i.e. mobile becoming dominant
  • A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, or a related field 
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant marketing experience 
  • Excellent written, verbal and digital communication and project management skills; skilled proofreader and editor (proficiency in AP style); graphic and/or design experience is a definite plus. 
  • Must be an innovative and creative problem-solver with strong analytical skills 
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills, detail-oriented, and the ability to respond to and manage changing priorities in a small team environment 
  • A professional demeanor, strong interpersonal communication skills, enthusiastic, and collaborative 
  • Two or more years of experience working in CRM software and Content Management Systems 
  • Working knowledge of SEO, paid search and Google Analytics 
  • Able to work additional hours when needed; some travel may be required
  • Salary commensurate with experience
