The Media Manager joins the digital marketing team and maintains strong ownership and accountability over driving optimal performance from paid media to support enrollment goals of assigned institutions. This role partners closely with Adtalem’s external media agency and with senior marketing leaders to align on media strategy, provide direction, and manage the media agency partner to ensure performance against brand awareness, lead generation, and conversion goals. This role manages a media budget/invoicing and is responsible for a strong return on investment from advertising budgets and reports regularly on the performance across online and offline channels (paid search, paid social, display, online video, email, and terrestrial radio). The Media Manager serves as the primary project manager through the execution of paid media projects, such as creative and landing page asset development and testing, and works closely with teams that span multiple business functions (Brand, Design/UX, CRO, Analytics, etc.). The Media Manager provides subject matter expertise to champion digital media best practices, educate marketing leaders on media optimization, and provide excellence and innovation on behalf of Adtalem and its institutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop media strategy to support and deliver against Adtalem business objectives 
  • Responsible for performance management and regular reporting of paid media activity and managing agency partner on the development and optimization of paid media plans that will increase website traffic, leads/inquiries and new students. 
  • Project manage media priorities and tasks across Adtalem’s online and offline media activities to drive performance toward enrollment goals, ensuring timely coordination between brand, creative, media teams and agency. 
  • Provide ideas and solutions for pain points/problems in processes; then work alongside internal and external teams to develop best practices, enhancements, and tools to improve these 
  • Collaborate with marketing leaders and media manager colleagues to ensure media and website plans, goals and objectives are aligned, optimized and integrated. 
  • Align with key stakeholders on the development of annual, session-based, and continual test plans that will achieve business objectives. 
  • Support the development of in-depth analysis and reporting of digital media. 
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in paid media, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in digital acquisition marketing 
  • In-depth knowledge of paid media channels (paid search, paid social, display, video, etc.) and how they work together 
  • Strong analytical mindset and comfort making data-driven decisions 
  • Strong project management and communication skills 
  • Proven ability to develop and manage paid media plans that meet and/or exceed business objectives 
  • Strong knowledge of offline and digital media as a direct response lead generation tool. 
  • Ability to identify new ways to leverage online media to advertise and generate leads/inquires 
  • Innovative thinker, collaborative team player and skilled communicator 
  • Ability to convey complex subjects to ‘clients’ in an understandable way 
  • Experience managing media agencies 
  • Experience working within an agency setting and digital account manager role a plus
