WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Media Associate (Planner) is responsible for the evaluation, recommendation, planning, and buying of media opportunities for client accounts. Also responsible for making special recommendations to be presented to the client and key account management personnel.

The Media Associate (Planner) must be able to handle multiple responsibilities and efficiently juggle a workload that will always include shifting priorities and deadlines. On a daily basis, the position requires someone that can take initiative, has the ability to seek out information from appropriate sources, and has exceptional follow-through. Attention to detail is extremely important. You’ll also get to:

  • Meets with Associate Creative Director - Media, Content Strategists, and Account Executives to establish paid media objectives and strategies for advertising campaigns 
  • Develops and oversees strategic B2B and B2C media plans to teams and clients; makes revisions and adjustments as necessary 
  • Meet with the media buyers/coordinators to communicate approved plans for implementation and oversee the implementation 
  • Evaluate goals and KPIs of media plans and determine optimizations and track performance 
  • Studies demographic data and consumer profiles to identify target audiences for digital, print, broadcast, or other media 
  • Owns day to day campaign launches and strategic monitoring 
  • Prepares media plan flowcharts and manages directives to guide the execution process 
  • Meets with media representatives to evaluate the optimum use of budgeted funds to achieve marketing and sales objectives 
  • Gathers statistics and identifies metrics to measure the success of recommendations 
  • Conducts media research, evaluates data, develops views; understands systems applications, and understands various media and their applications against client strategies and goals Attends individual media presentations and/or industry presentations to keep current with industry changes. 
  • Manages day-to-day campaigns, including trafficking of ads, setting up new campaigns, and working with external ad vendors and internal team members 
  • Communicates internally and externally with partners to manage the budget daily, make changes based on performance, and escalate issues or concerns to the manager 
  • As requested, gather, organize, and present competitive research and spending data. 
  • Provides market analysis and other reports, as requested. 
  • Understand the dynamics of 1st and 3rd party ad serving. 
  • Other projects, as assigned

  • 2-years media planning experience and/or 3 or more years media buying experience, preferably in an agency setting 
  • Strong mathematical ability and understanding of KPI tracking and development 
  • Experience working on a digital media planning and ad serving management 
  • Experience managing and working in programmatic software 
  • Creative thinker with the ability to work well autonomously as well as with a team 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
