The Media Production Coordinator is a part of the Communications Department and reports to the Communications and Economic Development Director. This position is responsible for managing community television channels and producing signature videos for the City of West Bend. The Media Production Coordinator is responsible for producing content and implementing communications strategies that support the City of West Bend’s presence in the community, increase awareness of programs and resources, and offer transparency in government operations to internal and external constituents. Hours are flexible. Meetings and events typically take place during evenings and select weekends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate television distribution center operations, manage two cable channel schedules and playback system 
  • Conduct live and recorded broadcasts of public meetings, sports, and special events 
  • Produce monthly Business of the Month videos, quarterly episodes of The City, and promotional videos 
  • Operate all studio equipment such as cameras, recorders, audio switchers, lights, and editing systems 
  • Responsible for all aspects of assigned projects, including planning, scripting, producing, directing, and editing 
  • Perform non-linear editing, CD and DVD production, digital encoding, mastering and duplication 
  • Perform supervisory duties of part-time production assistants, interns, and volunteers 
  • Manage digital asset library on network and online (City website, video-on-demand website, YouTube channel) 
  • Purchase and manage studio equipment and office supplies 
  • Train individuals and groups in the technical aspects of production 
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Training and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in video production, digital media, communications, or similar field of study
  • 3–4 years of video production experience
  • Proficient with Adobe Premiere Pro, Rush, InDesign, and Photoshop, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Must be able to work under the direction of the Director with minimal supervision
  • Able to professionally represent the City of West Bend and work positively with others
  • Must have great attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to meet deadlines

Salary Range: $56,638-$65,124 (DOE)

FLSA: Full-time, Exempt
