The Membership Director is a key role in providing administrative and technical direction for The Madison Club membership and marketing programs, services and activities. This includes developing and marketing club events and programs, membership recruitment and retention initiatives, communications and publications, and event planning and coordination. This position also oversees the administration of the Madison Club Charitable Foundation.

This position is best suited for a “people person” with a positive attitude and a flexible demeanor. This individual must have the ability to generate new ideas and present concepts verbally and also must have strong writing, editing, proofreading, and layout/design skills. Membership

  • Assists prospective members with questions about membership. 
  • Leads tours and orientation program for new members; coordinates prospective member functions.  Assists with maintaining contact with members and effectively responds to member comments in accordance with club standards, policies and rules.
  • Personally meets club members during visits to the club or members office.
  • Tracks and reports on membership numbers and trends to General Manager and board of directors as needed.
  • Receives and assists with resolving complaints from club members and guests as directed by the General Manager.
  • Assists with following up on telemarketing efforts, member referrals, internal and external leads, media articles, etc.
  • Oversees Ambassador Program and meets/communicates with Membership Committee to assign tasks, check in on statuses, etc. Meets monthly to discuss and review strategies and successes.

Marketing/Promotion/Communication

  • Coordinates the implementation of a variety of marketing programs and activities to meet and maintain club membership goals. Works closely with the General Manager to develop new programs and incentives to recruit new members and retain existing members. 
  • Assists with coordinating and promoting all club events and activities including consulting with members, internal staff and external personnel to establish goals, confirm services required, etc. to ensure events are promoted and carried out successfully. 
  • Works closely with Marketing Consultant and/or outside vendors to coordinates and administer event marketing including advertising, press releases and promotional materials such as newsletters, flyers, invitations, brochures, special mailings, etc.
  • Oversees and administers Overture Center season ticket subscriptions.

Represents The Club

  • Meets with members and business contacts to develop new relationships on behalf of the Club. Works to establish new trade relationships.
  • Assists with networking efforts and participates in community activities; markets and promotes a positive image of The Club.

Madison Club Charitable Foundation

  • Serves as Administrator for the Madison Club Charitable Foundation. 

Creative/Design

  • Works with the Marketing Consultant and is an integral park of the content, creation, design and layout of marketing and sales publications. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field.
  • 5 years of marketing or development experience.
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies, processes and available resources.
  • Knowledge of a variety of advertising methods including traditional and social media.
  • Ability to create, compose and edit the content, structure and format of written material.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate media activities and special events.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite required.
  • Ability to create and layout materials to be published.
